Today I watched you bite your lip until it bled
I watched your eyebrows furrow and your eyes squint
In an attempt to stop salt-watered tears
Today I saw you cry
For the first time in front of your friends
I saw you bury your face in their shoulders
Today, you cried
And laughed to stop other people from crying
Today, you lied
And put a mask on your face of false cheerfulness
Although you're alright now,
It left rainclouds in my heart
