The Beauty in Pain

Sometimes I wonder why we even try to make everything alright if it's only going to get messed up again. Every time we achieve perfection it is only ripped from our hands before we can even process it. But that's one of the most beautiful things about humanity. No matter what happens, our first instinct is to end the pain. And no matter what it takes, we always do. Even when it's hard, even when it seems impossible, even when we have to get help from other people but almost 100% of the time...we do it. We pick ourselves back up and we keep going. We don't give up. We survive.

We go through this world having twists and obstacles harder than we could ever imagine thrown at us faster than the speed of light. However, if life wasn't hard, would we really even be living? Having everything handed to us on a silver platter, never experiencing reality. Never knowing what it's like to go through a hardship because we'd all be trapped in our own castle, isolated from what it's like to feel, to know, to love.

If no one did anything because they were afraid of something bad happening, no one would do anything at all. Everything would be too risky. We wouldn't be able to go anywhere, see anything, meet anyone. It's all too complicated. There would be too many ways for it to go wrong. We would never be able to fall in love because love is probably the most painful thing in the universe. But it's also the most beautiful.

No, you see, if there were no pain in the world, there would be no happiness either. We would cut ourselves off from all emotion, all feeling. After all, how can one be happy when sadness does not exist?
