People tend to put themselves up on a pedestal. We like to think we are better than others. That there's always someone lower than us. We just can't stand the thought of being at the bottom of the ladder.
I've noticed this a lot with religion. (Now don't think I'm bashing on religious people. I myself am Christian.) In the past, it was POC. They were considered the lowest of humanity. Now that we've realized how horrible that is, it's people of the LGBTQ+ community. We always have to find a community of people that we can throw under the bus for our own benefit. To make ourselves feel better. You can't be king of the hill if the ground is level.
Just remember that every time you get up on that high-horse, others are only seeing the lowest side of you.
