And as she died, the world went quiet. The Earth held its breath, and the sounds of day-to-day life ceased. The silence filled with regret as what remained of Humanity realized what it had come to.
Alternative:
She took her last breath; her heart beat for the last time. A deafening silence filled the air as the last of Humanity slipped away. As she died, the world went quiet.
~Author's note~
I'm working on the first chapter of this book atm. It will be called "And As She Died." It is set in the future and is about a third world war after most countries have been destroyed. Spoiler alert: After a lot of bombing, Adira and her fiance end up as the last two people on Earth. I may incorporate both of these lines into the book somehow, I'm not 100% sure yet. Also (probably not but it's still an option) aliens might be a part of it.
What do you think? Tell me your ideas for the story and what you think would be most interesting to read. Thank you :)
