Yuki was a force, like a tidal wave, his carefree attitude and happy go lucky nature made him hard to dislike yet his ferocity when backed into a duel when it really counted was something that had no equal. You'd counted yourself his friend for just over a year now, but when it came to Judai, calling yourself his friend was hardly a feat. It seemed like everywhere he went people were drawn to that infectious smile and carefree manner. Jun would never admit it but even he had become his friend now.

Yet for as many duels you shared, lunches you talked over and legendary game nights you had in the cramped Osiris red dorm room you always felt as though he was somewhat always there yet just out of reach. You knew the queen of blue had feelings for him, it was plain for all to see, whether Judai was that dense or pretending not to know you hadn't quite worked out but you could feel Asuka's frustrations. Even as you sat next to him game controller in hand yet your thoughts a million miles away from the racing game you were playing things had been different lately. He'd matured, he spent less time with people, well everyone was getting busy now in 3rd year but you couldn't help but feel anxious in the small room. You wanted more from him and you felt as though that more would never come yet you still wanted to try and force your hand, just like a duel bet it all on drawing the right card in the last moment.

"Ah...!" you blinked you'd driven your car right into a wall not paying attention and Judai had soared past you in an instant.

You were usually so good at this but your heart just wasn't in it, with graduation looming you thought of all the people you'd leave behind, people always said they would keep in touch but did they? You weren't so sure and you didn't want to lose him.

"What's wrong _____? You're not focused at all tonight it's like you're letting me win" Judai commented.

People called him dense, an airhead, stupid but he was sharper than he let on, a hell of a lot more so. You sighed and looked down at the controller in your hands wondering what to say in response to being caught, you had so many thoughts swirling in your mind it was hard to catch any and tie them down. He paused the game setting his controller down and looked at you seriously taking your shoulders in his hands and shaking you lightly.

"_____ c'mon tell me what's up" he sighed, his face showed concern and you didn't mean to worry him.

"I'm just thinking about graduation... how we'll all split up... maybe drift apart" you sighed, it was a very real threat but of course Judai laughed it off.

"As if, our friendship has gotten us through so much, we'll all be friends for life!" he said.

"We are all already drifting apart" you stated and the room had never seemed so empty, so large, so quiet as it did now.

Judai opened his mouth to speak but you were quicker to intervene, he wasn't going to give you some crappy excuse when it was plain for all to see.

"Sho has pretty much given up on coming here, he's too busy being a blue, Tirano... who knows what and the others... it's not that anyone even seems busy anymore they've moved on, it's been weeks since Jun left" you sighed prepared to list off more people who had disappeared off the face of the planet.

"______... You know I'm still here whatever you need" he said softly, slowly like he was trying to chose his words carefully.

"Are you? Whatever I need?" you asked putting emphasis on the 'whatever' part of the sentence.

"Yes, we've been through a lot together and no matter what you do or where you go we will always be friends" he promised and you sighed somewhere between anger and disappointment.
