The next week, Daehwi found himself standing in front of the awfully familiar cafe down the street where he and Jinyoung used to go. The decor is still the same, the menu outside the door haven't change nor the aroma of freshly baked pastry and brewed coffee. Daehwi still feel the same when he and Jinyoung first discover the place out of boredom and the adventurous teenagers inside them, just carefree and just them alone on their own little world or at least for Daehwi. This maybe the last time he's going to this place and even though he wanted to share the experience with Jinyoung, this time he's doing it with a different person, Hwang Minhyun. Blame it all to his Jisung hyung.
When his photoshoot was done week ago, Jisung confronted him immediately, so he half lied and only told the part where their make up artist notice that he's getting thinner. Daehwi pleaded that he'll eat well next time but Jisung, on his dread, insist on putting him up again with one of the hyung line to watch his meal even though it's not needed. So on their day off he sent him and Minyun off to eat somewhere deliciously and it just happens to be here.
"Hyung, How did you know this place?"
Minhyun only looks at Daehwi and shake his head a little.
"Jihoon suggested this to me. He said its mostly empty but serve delicious food. He said it'll give you peace in the simplest way."
Of course Daehwi knows all of that, he's been here on most of their individual day off and when he felt like crying when he misses home because of the feelings that comfort him, but he knows that it wouldn't give the same thing now because admit it or not, it's not the restaurant alone who stop his tears from falling, his world from crumbling and his heart from shuttering, it's that warm smile that he rarely now see.
Daehwi look down at his black shoes that he bought with Jinyoung because he thinks couple items looks cute.
How does Jihoonie-hyung knows this place? It's not his type and Jinyoung couldn't possibly tell it to him even though they're more close now. It's their secret hideout and a place to heal and theirs alone, they promised to each other and promise shouldn't be broken, right?
Or so he thought.
"Isn't that Jinyoungie?"
When those words escape Minhyung's lips, Daehwi can't help himself but to look for his small headed hyung which he easily spotted for there's almost no costumer other than them. But Jinyoung is not alone, he is with... Jihoon?...
Did Jinyoung just show him their secret place? The place where they promised to stay just between them? Daehwi didn't even tell a single word about this to his most trusted brother, Woojin. To say that he felt betrayed isn't enough to describe his emotions right now.
So this is why they have stopped eating to this place together because apparently, Jihoon's company is much better.
Minhyun drag him to sit and to his dismay it's in front of the person he misses a lot, Bae Jinyoung.
Wow! Minhyungie-hyung, why do you have to be so cruel?
Daehwi could see Jinyoung's eyes grew big at their unannounced present, suddenly, Daehwi wanted to laugh but he is more hurting to feel emotions at the moment.
"Oh hyung! Daehwi! You finally decided to see this place? Jinyoung suggested this, it's our secret-oh it's not our secret place anymore" Jihoon chuckles, rumbling about how good the place is.
"You're right, and it's hidden." The oldest of them four agreed, nodding as he scan the place. "It is, right Daehwi-ah?"
The youngest caught of guard at the question that is directed to him.
"Ah... Y-Yeah! It's a nice place" he replied, clearing his throat at the end of his sentence to hide all the unwanted emotions that's slowly crawling on his throat.
"I'll take the food guys, what do you want?" Jihoon ask standing up together with Minhyun to lend a hand.
"Just the regular." Daehwi answered not really thinking because he's busy stirring up the glass of water using a straw.
Jihoon looks at him with a frown. "Have you been here before Hwi?"
Daehwi's eyes went wide this time, mentally slapping himself for being ignorant sometimes.
"N-No! Of course not..." he started looking anywhere but not meeting anyone's eyes. "I'm just assuming that they have regulars because that's usually the best right?" Daehwi chuckles and also mentally pat himself for making a good and acceptable excuse.
Jihoon scratch his head in embarrassment.
"Y-Yeah. They have regulars. What about you Jinyou-oh right it's always the same anyways" Jihoon added and started to make his way to the counter with Minhyun on his trail.
How long do Jihoon and Jinyoung went here together? Is it when Jinyoung stopped going here with Daehwi? Or is it when his two hyungs started to have their days off together? Then that's pretty long already.
"Hwi, It's not-"
Daehwi cuts the other off by shaking his head as a strained smile automatically makes its way to his lips.
"It's okay hyung, I understand"
Jinyoung looks hesitant at first but there's the smile that Daehwi loves so much again.
"I'm sorry Hwi, but thank you"
To be honest, Daehwi couldn't understand anything. Was he supposed to? All he knew was that he's hurting but he couldn't bring himself to let Jihoon experience the same pain he is in now. His hyung is too precious just to feel betrayed. But Daehwi is too, why is he suffering alone? Why is he in love alone?
There on his face was a smile to fool everyone but under the table, his hands are shaking and his tears are already fighting their way out. Daehwi is an idiot though, a strong idiot at that. He could pretend to be happy. He could act like he understands everything if it means to see those smiles again.
Daehwi will be an idiot that cries at night.
