Magician

Chapter 4

Matthew woke up to the sound of an alarm clock ringing. It was 7:00 am. He groaned and got out of bed, and walked to the living room. He saw Jordan was already eating breakfast, and when he sat down next to him, Jordan greeted him with a mouthful of oats. Matthew made his own breakfast, and sat down next to Jordan. They were both orphans, and they had to be responsible for themselves.

Since Matthew had to get to his place earlier than Jordan, he went out first. He had all his supplies, and had food in case he couldn't make it. He bought a cheap map from a nearby store, and studied it. He was almost there. He folded the map and stuffed it into his pack, and headed to the East Tower's entrance.The East Tower was a part of the castle, but the entrance was far away. As he walked down the paved road, he saw Olivia walking on the other side of the road. She was headed to the Main Castle. Matthew ran over and said hi. She was surprised, but wished him good luck and crossed the road to the Main Castle. Matthew wondered what the time was, and started jogging. When he finally reached the entrance, he saw Lysandros Adoh waiting for him.

"Am I late?" asked Matthew. "No. On the contrary, you are very early. It is currently..." He tapped his staff muttered something. The time came and he continued, "8:30 a.m. That means we can go up the stairs." answered the Magician. Matthew groaned. He did not want want to waste all his energy on stairs. "Come on boy," Lysandros said. "A little climbing can't hurt us." and walked into the tower. Matthew shook his head and followed, thinking it would hurt him a lot.

He found Lysandros again, and he said, "Watch and learn boy, this will make things easier." Matthew watched Lysandros tap his staff again, and saw a magic platform building and rising. Lysandros leaped gracefully and gestured for Matthew to follow. Matthew climbed up and stood up. "Wow" Matthew looked down and saw that they were floating. Lysandros cast a spell, and suddenly, they were going up the spiral stairs.

They went up like that for around 10 minutes, and he was grateful for the ride.  When they reached the top, Matthew jumped off and Lysandros made the platform evaporate. He walked ahead of Matthew and stopped in front of two doors. He fumbled with his keys, and unlocked the door. He opened the doors and went in. "Welcome to your new home...Matthew."
