Prologue
The world was created in seven days. It only takes seven seconds to take mine away. But in three seconds it became someone else's.

Garrett's Point Of View
Ive never been so excited to do a spooky video with my close friends Shane and Drew. We're youtubers. The spooky boys. Well only Drew and I call ourselves that. Shane found an interesting place to ghost hunt. A Suicide bridge right here in LA! Aww that's kinda sad though to think about. All the poor souls still there....anyways. I met up with the boys only an hour or two ago. Shane's car pulled up outside my apartment and I eagerly climbed inside. Right away a camera was already up and filming. "Okay guys we are in the car right now and I'm back with Drew" Shane says as Drew says a creepy little Hi that sounds like a demon child. "And Garrett" "What's up" I whisper throwing my hand up in a little wave. "And we are ready to find some ghosts, okay, actually on the drive over here, they didn't know about this bridge" Shane goes on, receiving a head shake no from both Drew and I. "I was just telling them about it and they started doing research while I was driving. Drew found some crazy shit so tell them what you found." Aiming the camera on Drew, I listened to what he knew "Well, a guy, it's really sad, but a guy who killed himself on the bridge." Drew finishes, Shane mouth dropped. "Only a year ago" Shane adds. Continuing on with the facts we already knew about the bridge we had finally arrived. Already the atmosphere was just ew. Something felt really strange about it. "This is like the beginning of a movie!" An eager smile sprawls across my face having Shane's light shines in my face. "I'd be the star of it" Says Drew, Shane and I both laughing. "I'd be the one to get killed quick" I say laughing putting my hands in my pockets. "Okay we're walking up to the bridge now. Oh my god this looks like a fucking horror movie" The path was dark and paved with dim lit street lights. The vibe just felt gross, is the best way to put it. "This is genuinely scary. So this is the walk that people make" Shane says nervously. "That's really scary to think about" I swallow down a little bit of nervousness. "Oh my god guys on the actual bridge there's a sign. "There is hope"" a little blue sign mounted on a street lamp really makes this feel even more real. "Oh my god we're here oh my god we're here" Shane clutches his camera with nervousness. With a few jokes and steps across the highway, we find the jumping places. "It's so far down." Drew looks down at the same time I do. "Oh my god. Oh my fucking god there's someone in the the ledge" Shane says in a harsh voice in a panic. He isn't wrong. Just over the wall a boy stands on the edge of the bridge, contemplating jumping. This isn't happening right now is it? "Oh my god what do we do?" Shane becomes mildly hysterical. "Garrett What are you doing?!" Drew calls after me watching me climb over the suicide barrier, shimmying my way towards the girl. "U-Um hello. I know you don't know me but this isn't the answer." I talk with the male softly. Hoping he replies. His body goes rigid. I can hear Shane and Drew in the background already calling the police. "Leave me alone. I'm doing this. Get away from me" he says harshly. He sounds dead serious. Gulping, I tie my belt to the fence and around my wrist just in case I had to do something risky. "Whatever you're going through, I don't know what that is I'm just some random youtuber standing on a ledge terrified to death, b-but whatever it is I know you can over come it. When you hit the bottom the only other way to go is up." His black stained (y/e/c) meet my blue ones. "you still hit the bottom." My eyes widen when the boy starts to tilt. "NO!" Without any thinking at all, I jump for him. His body was already off the ledge right as my hand grabbed his wrist in a hard grip holding him up, my chest laying on the ledge he just jumped from. "What are you doing?! Let me go!" He screamed at me. "I can't do that!" I said back seeing all the cops swarming. Shane and Drew are just as terrified just as I am. "Please don't do this." I grunt a bit struggling to hold him hoping he realizes the mistake he's making. I look into the empty abyss below him and I've never been so damn scared. I think he knew. I'm a six foot four man but I feel so small and terrified out of my mind. Suddenly, a miracle. The man grabbed onto my forearm, my hand on his as I slowly pulled him back onto the ledge between my legs, my arms holding onto him tightly so we don't fall off. "This is crazy this is crazy this is crazy" I'm hyperventilating. After thirty minutes of keeping this poor boy on the ledge and dangling off it with him, the police manage to get us into the bridge safely. "That was fucking crazy what the hell were you doing Garrett?!" Shane and Drew seem mad, but really they were just really worried I could fall. "I wasn't going to let him do it." I sigh brushing myself off. "What even made you think to climb over?" Drew asks. "I don't know? Instinct I guess" my eyes were glued on the life I just saved. "Go talk to him." Shane pushes me a little. "You did just save his life" Rubbing the back of my neck, I make my way to the police. "Is it okay if I talk to him..?" With a nod, they let me by. His head hangs low while he sits against an ambulance. His slim shoulders hold the security blanket around him. "I'm sorry if you're maybe mad at me for stopping you or anything like that I'm just a sweetheart that finds all lives beautiful I'm sorry." He looked up at me. "Don't be." His voice sounded gravelly and sad. It really bothered me I could feel his sadness and I didn't like it one bit. "Are you going to be okay?" "I guess...I might go find a spot under the bridge to sleep." My sweet boy heart is breaking. "why would you do that?" I lean against the ambulance with him. "I don't have anywhere else to go or anyone to go to." This is so sad I can barely stand it. "Um...hang on." I leave and return to my friends. "Guys I don't know what to do Hes so sad and by himself with nowhere to go. Shane can we bring her back to your house for the night? Please just so I know he won't jump again?" "This is literally the most insane thing ever. I feel like I'm going to cry. Make sure it's cool with the cops" Shane's blue eyes scream sympathy. Returning to the boy, I get a good glimpse of what he looks like. (Y/h/c/)(y/h/l) hair, very cute and punky, (y/e/c) eyes unfortunately surrounded by smudged black eyeliner, pink, but chapped lips that form a frown and a slim frame that holds him up. "Um...me and my friends want you to come with us so you can have a place to sleep for the night if that's okay?" The boy looks up at me with a shocked expression. "You barely know me" Rubbing my neck once more, I speak. "Well, I'm Garrett." Extending one of my hands towards him, he lightly grasps it with his delicate hand. "(Y/n)" "(y/n)? That's a suiting name." I give him a goofy smile receiving a tiny one on his part. "Come meet my friends so you'll know who you'll be around." His expression returns to a depressed one. "I'm afraid of them." "What? Why? I promise they're so nice." (Y/n) pulled the blanket around him tighter. "I'm afraid of people. The only reason I'm not afraid of you is because you stopped me from jumping." I frown a little bit. Something in me really wants to take care of this boy. Maybe it's the adrenaline still hitting me really really hard. "I'll stay with you if it helps any?" Once more I extend my hand. He holds onto it softly, walking slowly and a bit unstably towards my friends. "Are you alright?" Shane asks softly. "I'm okay." (Y/n) avoids eye contact with Shane. "Oh my god did I make you upset by asking that?" Shane covers his mouth feeling bad. "He's really afraid of you both." I say softly. "Oh no...We're not going to hurt you I promise. I'm Shane. And this is Drew. We do YouTube videos on scary stuff like this bridge." "I know who you are. I use to watch you when I was younger" (y/n) smiles a little bit. "I'm (y/n)" "well, (Y/n), you're coming with us for the night." Drew says in a creepy manner to lighten the mood. He laughs a little bit and it sounds so lovely. Getting into the G-Wagon, I sit in the back with (y/n). He hasn't let go of my hand yet. I didn't really mind I just wanted him to be comfortable. He seemed so depressed and lonely. It made me feel that way. "Where are we?" (Y/n) asked me. "Shane wanted to stop at Walmart so he could call his boyfriend and tell him what happened." I looked at (y/n) sympathetically. "You know most people don't pick up strangers off of a bridge and take them home." He said coldly. "I know I just really want to help you something tells me to." I confess. "Why did you really catch me? Most people would have let me fall." "I couldn't do that. I couldn't let such a sweet boy take his life away."I frown feeling tears bubble into my eyes. "Are you crying..?" (Y/n) asks me. "Maybe a little bit." I admit. It just really made my heart hurt yknow? Shane Drew and I talk about killing ourselves and we do spooky videos but it's so painful to face someone really about to do it. "You're a soft guy. That's not a bad thing to be." (Y/n) hugged his knees and returned to staring out the window. He wore a large black hoodie, torn skinny jeans and a muddy pair of black converse. Arriving at Shane's home, his boyfriend, Ryland and his sister Morgan who is staying with them rush out to meet us. "Stay here okay were just going to talk to them" I slide my hand out of his watching his hand cling around his knees. "What happened?" Ryland asks with full alertness. If I had to guess it was around eleven when we arrived, two and a half hours after Ryland goes to sleep. He seemed cranky. "We literally picked up a jumper." Shane says with a serious tone. "A what?" Morgan wrinkles her nose. "A Suicide jumper. Garrett went out on the bridge and actually caught this boy as he was two or three seconds from killing himself. Literally a second too late and..." Shane makes a pale expression just thinking over (y/n) hitting the pavement. "You seriously did that?" Rylan looks at me while I nod. "He's in the car. He's really scared and has no where to go I thought we could bunker here for the night until I can figure something else out for him he's so sad Ryland." "Okay...let's meet him" Returning to the car I open the door for him. Slowly, (y/n) exits the car staying well behind my figure. "Don't be afraid, this is Ryland, Shane's boyfriend, and his sister Morgan." Ryland and Morgan both speak to him. "Everyone just come inside and relax." Shane says leading us inside. After an hour or so, Rylan said his good nights and went to bed leaving myself, Shane and (y/n) still awake. Drew lied asleep on the couch across from Shane (y/n) and I with Shane's cat, Cheeto asleep on his stomach. "How old are you?" Asked Shane. "I'm twenty four." "Four years older than Morgan Two years older than Drew, three years younger than Ryland, four years younger than me and five years younger than Shane" I say calculating everything. "Ooh lets not use old like I'm about to be a thirty year old man deep frying barbies" Shane cringes making us both laugh. "I really do appreciate you letting me crash here...I'm sorry you had to go through dealing with that..." (y/n) says sadly. "Don't say that you're not a burden." Shane says. "Do you want to tell why you planned on jumping..?" "Garrett" Shane scolded me. "No, Shane it's okay. A number of different reasons. I'm just...depressed. Clinically that is. I can't do anything about it. On top of home abuse with my parents that lasted up until right now I couldn't take it anymore. I thought dying might be the best way out." My body goes a bit numb. I feel so bad for him. "Are you...I don't know mad that I stopped you? I know that's a silly thing to ask but..." "well no...something about the way you said please don't do this..it just triggered something." (Y/n) hugs a pillow tightly. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that. It's really sad when people feel the only way out is suicide. You're welcome to stay here until Garrett can help you get somewhere. I think I'm going to head up to bed. Goodnight, both of you." Shane waves us a short good night before joining his boyfriends upstairs. "I don't know if I can sleep everything feels so weird and I feel so alone." Tears fill his makeup stained eyes. "Come here." I gently take his hand and lead him to the bathroom. "Do you have a shirt on underneath your hoodie?" I ask watching him take it off. "You're a hufflepuff?" I ask with shock pointing at his house T-shirt. "Yeah...I collected the wands and stuff back when I lived at home but I think my parents trashed them." I already like him. "I'm a hufflepuff too." I grin like a dummy. "Sweet." (Y/n) smiles a tired smile. "Oh um...I asked because I was gonna give you my flannel so you can sleep in something clean instead of your hoodie." His hoodie was wet with what I believe was rain and sweat maybe from being out in the open too long. "Here." removing my shirt, carefully it slips around his small frame. (Y/n) is a good foot and or so smaller than me. He's fairly thin as well. The shirts huge on him. "Thanks Garrett you didn't have to." His voice was sounds a bit more human. It was so nice. "I wanted to. Look." I point into the mirror showing him and myself. Unfortunately due to my height, my head gets cut off at the neck but his goes right about to my chest. Taking a warm wet rag, the makeup is washed from his face showing a new person. "See? With a little bit of care anything can be fixed." I say comfortingly. Shane's house was pretty cold considering I was I only in my cargo pants a white tank top styled undershirt and my sock, but I didn't mind. I was warm with the knowledge that I saved someone's life. I couldn't sleep all too well but (y/n) fell asleep with his head slightly against my leg. It seems like he hadn't slept in years. Finally I'm able to lull myself to sleep after this spooky adventure.
