Readers Point Of View.
It was still pitch black when Garrett's phone went off at three in the morning aboard the Queen Mary. Even though I was being held by two arms, I still felt incredibly uneasy while sleeping. I could tell. The hair on my body was standing straight up. I must have tossed something fierce. Crawling out of the hoodie, I was hit with a blast of cold air. I decided not to wake up completely. "Morning." Garret yawned softly. "Good morning. I don't think the others are awake. I'm too scared to get up and see." "We don't have to. I'm sure Shane will come in here to get us up. We can just lie here for a little bit longer." He sounded exhausted. My head rested on Garret's arm. "It's still freezing. Do you think it's ghosties?" Says Garret starting to tense from the cold. "Maybe. That's why I'm too scared to get up." I looked at him in the dark only able to make out his hair, eyes and head. "I was too scared to get out of bed too. I kept having nightmares." He finally admitted. Sitting up I look down at him in the dark. "You did too? I kept moving." "I know, I felt every time you moved." Garrett's eyes were closed again. "I'm sorry." Rubbing my fingers from my messy hair, I felt bad about keeping him awake. The sudden feeling of a hand on my back, it made me feel both scared and comfortable. "Don't worry about it." "Please tell me that's your hand Garrett." My heart was pounding. "It is don't worry." Laying back down onto his arm I felt embarrassed. "Don't do that you scared the hell out of me." I could hear him chuckles to himself. "Garret." Called Shane flashing a flash light. "Shane what the hell?" I groaned covering my eyes. "Am I interrupting something?" I could see the dirty smile Shane had. "Shane no. (Y/n) was freezing and scared so I let him sleep with me." Says Garrett in my defense. "This room is freezing and just creepy." Shane replies having Garrett and I follow him into the main part of the hotel room. "You guys slept well hm?" Teases Ryland. I started to blush a bit. Garrett and I were just friends...right? I mean I liked him a lot...his stupid...cute grin..nerdy habits...but I wasn't sure of his sexuality. "Its not what you think. I offered him to sleep with me because he was cold and scared." Says Garret, also very red. "Okay, everyone get dressed and ready for ghost hunting." Going into my room, I shut the door feeling a bunch of things. Weird emotions that I've never felt before. Maybe I liked Garrett. Really, really liked Garrett, but whatever it would never matter because I'm just the jumper...carefully I dress myself In a red sweater, some black jeans and my vans. My short hair couldn't really be done justice. It was scraggly and spiked out in multiple directions aside from the bit that hung loosely over my forehead. Ah well. Walking outside of the room, I feel like I could use a cigarette. "It's pretty isn't it?" I jump three feet in the air. "You really have to stop scaring me like that." My face feels warm with irritation. "I'm sorry but it is! It's so nice I want to fall in love up here." The stars reflected in Garrett's glasses. Something about him saying that, made my heart feel strange. Leaning against the rail I stare up at the sky. The stars do look incredible. I want to rip my heart out and just throw it overboard I don't need to fall for my best friend. "Um...hey Garrett?" His blue eyes met mine. I suddenly felt ten times more nervous. "What's up?" "Let's say hypothetically speaking...um...if your best-friend were to um..." as I was about to talk, Shane Ryland and Morgan join us on deck. "Ready to take the ghost tour?" Shane asks. "Definitely" I feel a bit...sad. I wanted to talk about the stuff I felt with Garrett, but it was going to need to wait. We met our guide in the lobby. "Welcome aboard the Queen Mary. This, is the isolation Ward." I could feel a presence. It felt so cold. "Now I have to warn you, we are not the only ones here." "What does THAT mean." Exclaims Morgan. "Please watch your step." My hand ran across the old stair rail making every part of my hand go numb. "Okay, I'm freaked out here." Even Ryland, a total skeptic was whetting uncomfortable. Garrett stayed close behind me. "This is next level." Says Shane. "The isolation ward is where we kept contagiously ill passengers away from the general public. Right here you can see some of the original medical bunks." Garrett gasped with excitement. "Can I go in there?" He made his way into a smaller room with two wall bunks. "Ew lay on it." Shane says as Morgan lays down on the bottom bunk. "I couldn't fit." Laughs Garrett. "Let me see if I can climb on the top" eagerly I hoist myself into the top bunk. "That's bowing." Shane points out the bunk started to bend under my weight. "Ew ew ew be careful" to my surprise, I'm lifted off of the bunk and onto the floor by Garret Just before the bunk would have collapsed, probably killing Morgan in the process. "Thank you." I sigh. "Don't mention it." "Death at sea? What's this about?" Shane points out a plaque of all the people to have died on this boat. "We know at least two hundred and fifty six people didn't not make it." I could feel the air getting sadder. As our guide continued on, I felt Garrett lightly tug at my sleeve."Are you okay though? I was just scared that if it broke, you both would have gotten really hurt I hope I didn't hurt you when I grabbed you." I swear he's such a sweetheart. "I'm fine. It just startled me is all" I give him a reassuring smile. My hands go inside of my pockets I feel so uncomfortable down here. Walking further into the ship, I notice Garrett disappears. Where did he go? Suddenly, Shane jumps stumbling into me. "Oh my god, stop" He rubs his temples when Garrett comes from a corner laughing a little bit. "That was so mean." I snicker a tad. Around six or so in the morning, we started getting a bit hungry. "I think we should get back to the room so we can eat I need some energy for this shit." Says Shane leading us back to our room. "Hey (y/n). We haven't gotten a chance to really talk." Says Morgan walking with me back to the room. "I'm sorry about that, I'm just...I'm weird" stifling a laugh, she turns to me. "We're all weird." She has a point. "I was curious about you and Garrett, you seem so close." I stop for a brief moment. "Garrett?" "Yeah, are you two just friends or more?" Morgan bumps my arm a few times playfully. I could tell my face was red. "Well um....do you want the truth?" My eyes lock with her blue eyes. "Totally!" "Were friends but....I think I have a major thing for him." Morgan has never smiled so big it's creepy. "I knew it." "Please don't say anything please I don't want to mess up our friendship." I beg her. "Of course. I can't promise I won't set you both up though." She laughs. "That I can handle." I flop onto my bed and look at the video Shane had uploaded the night before.
