I woke up in a dimly lit cave with the most gruesome headache. I tried to think to yesterday, to anything, but there was nothing I could remember. It was all blurry. When I tried to focus on what had happened before the headache just became worse.  I struggled to get up then I realised that something was tied to my leg. When I looked down I realised it was a book. I pulled the string and when I picked up the book a paper fell out. In bold and all capitals at the top of the page was a warning.

DO NOT THROW AWAY IF YOU WANT TO SURVIVE

I raised my eyebrows. What?

Take two lefts to get out and then go to the cabin

I tentatively followed the instructions and found my way out of the cave. After my eyes adjusted to the light I realised I was on top of a hill. Mostly I was surrounded by trees but at the bottom of the hill there was a cabin partly hidden by the foliage. I looked back at the diary it said: Le Ann's Diary. Le Ann. I furrowed my eyebrows. Was that my name? I was so confused. I decided to get some help.

I ran to the cabin and banged on the door. A guy opened the door. He looked about 20, had brown skin and long black hair. Despite the pain I was in I still felt self conscious. How long was I in that cave for? The guys eyes widened and mouth was slighty agape.

"Is there anyone following you," he asked nervously pulling the door closer to himself.

"N-No," I choked out wondering why he was questioning me instead of rushing to help.

"Get in," he said firmly and pulled me inside. I blinked slowly, confused at his change of behaviour, but I went inside. It was a wooden structure that had a small eating area and a small but comfortable living area. He cleared his throat then I looked up at him.

"Now listen to me and listen to me good," he said. "The only reason I let you in is because I need answers. I'm going to give you three minutes to explain everyhting then you let your sorry self out of here before people come here trying kick down my door again."

"But-" I said.

"I mean you come in and just practically thow this key at me," he said shaking his head and holding up a key. "Then a whole army of people just come in busting through the door, asking where Le Ann is. I said 'Who the bleep is Le Ann?' And a week later you're back with a vengeance. Only its just that last week you didn't look like you just rolled in mud and hair didn't look like a rats nest."

Did this guy ever stop talking?

"Look," I said getting slightly annoyed. "Its not that I dont want to tell you what happened! I can't even remember myself. All have is this stupid diary and its locked.and I have a horrible headache, so if you feel like yo want to continue all this interrogating then you're probably going to receive a slap and then I'm going to black out."

His expression softened andhelped me into a green reclining chair.

"And another thing," I said getting a little strength, "you couldn't even put me out. Do you know where I woke up? In a cave. In. A. Cave. Seriously, my back hurts."

He chuckled but when he realised it was innappropriate given the circumstances he frowned, trying to look concerned.

"My parents aren't here right now. I'm actually watching the place for them now, I'm going to call them and ask them if you can stay." he said then went to the next room.

I picked up the key hoping it would spark a memory. Nothing. I picked up the diary. I could not open it neede a .... Oh my gosh. I'm dumb. I opened the diary with the key.

If I think back to the time this all started it would have been when I fisrt met him.

Woah, I thought, putting down the book. Reading the first couple of words made my head feel like it was on fire.
