Evan- your stepbrother.

"No, Peter, you are so wrong. You have no idea what happens when you're not around. No idea."

"Well tell me then! Tell me what happens!" You shook your head, tears brimming your eyes. You and Peter had gotten into a massive argument.

"I just-" You inhaled deeply. "I can't." Peter ran a hand through his hair, turning away from you.

"Secrets, Y/N. You said we couldn't have secrets. I told you I was Spider-Man, I told you I loved you. So why aren't you telling me? Why aren't you letting me help you?" Anger overtook you. He doesn't know anything.

"And what could you possibly do to help me? What could you do to stop what's happening, even if you are Spider-Man? You love me? Bullshit. If you loved me, you would leave. Leave like you always do." Peter turned around to face you, getting awfully close to your face.

"Maybe I will leave! I'll leave and never come back, because that's clearly what you want."

"Swing off then! See if I care!"

"Fine!"

"Fine!" And with that, you watched the love of your life swing off, out of your window, and out from your life.

The next few weeks were hard. It felt as though the whole world was balanced on your shoulders, your heart felt like it was constantly throbbing. As much as you wanted to stay in bed and avoid school, you cared about education. School was your getaway. And anyway, you couldn't handle being with your stepbrother. However, normally you would sit with Ned and Peter.

Great. Now I can't even have Ned as a friend.

"Hey, Penis Parker! How's your girlfriend?" Your ears perked up at that. Laughter sounded from the lunch Hall. You didn't even realise your feet had started to move in that direction. The walking speed had increased to a jog, that broke into a run. You didn't know why you were worried; but you didn't want Peter to get hurt.

"She's not my girlfriend!" He sounded..disgusted. You burst through the doors. All eyes turned to you. A crowd had gathered around Peter and Flash, watching the commotion. Your eyes locked with Peter's shocked ones. Memories came flooding through your brain, reaching your heart, but you shook them off.

Secrets.

He was right. You had agreed to not keep secrets, promised, but this one was too big. Bigger than Spider-Man.

"So, Y/N. Finally left this dick? I mean, I'm very much single and ready to mingle." Flash wiggled his eyebrows suggestively to which you rolled your eyes.

"The only dick around here is you, Flash." You turned away, tears brimming your eyes. She's not my girlfriend! "And I wouldn't go out with you. Ever. Ew."

"You bitch! How dare you take the keys without asking!" Tears rolled down your cheeks as the grip on your wrists tightened.

"You want to get hurt? Do you want me to slap you?" You shook your head, fast and hard. "Answer me, Bitch!"

"No! Please- I'll do anything!" A sick smile came over Evan's face.

"Anything?" You stayed quiet, silently praying that someone was going to help you. Too save you.

"Yes. Anything." Suddenly, Evan threw you onto the ground. You groaned in pain, earning yourself a slap round the face.

"You know what to do." Confusion overtook your featured. Then he started fumbling with his belt.

"What?! No, that's wrong!"

"Silence you fucking bitch! You said anything!" A punch this time, which would definitely leave a bruise. "You're not going to tell anyone about this, you hear me? Otherwise something a lot worse is going to happen." You nodded, knowing the consequences of what this would cause.

You weren't ready. You weren't ready.

Just as his jeans were slipping from his torso, you were tugged back. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. A flash of red and blue. A web shooting out to Evan, throwing him back. A secure arm wrapping around your waist, pulling you into a body. Then you were on a roof.

Your vision was blurry. You couldn't believe what had just happened. "Y/N?!" You blinked back the tears enough to see Spider-Man.

"P-Peter." He took a glance at you, tears rolling down his cheeks. His arms opened wide. A single tear rolled down your cheek, but as soon as you reached his warmth, sobs racked your body. Peter kissed the top of your head, pulling you tightly into him. You ignored the throbbing of the bruises and cuts, the aching of your heart, and snuggled into him.

"I-I'm so sorry." You managed to choke out. He silenced you with his gentle shushes, stroking your hair lightly.

"I love you so much, Y/N. I'm an idiot. Please." You pulled away.

"He abuses me, Peter. Hurts me. I didn't want to say. I know how much my mum loves his dad, and it hasn't worked out for her in so long."

"Why didn't you tell me?" His voice cracked.

"It's shameful, Pete! I shouldn't let anyone push me around like that. But it's not what would happen to me. He said he would do things to my mum, he would hurt her and-"
He nodded understandingly.

Then his facial features became serious. "Listen, I am never going to leave again. Ever. If anything happened to you..." he grabbed your shoulders. "We are going to the police and getting him behind bars."

He had never looked so sure, yet so sad. "O-okay." He looked between your eyes and your lips, hestitabt before pressing his lips to yours. You wrapped your arms around his neck, both of you crying.

"I'm never gonna swing off, okay? I'm never swinging off again."
