Who the hell?

I look around the park taking in the bright green plain of grass, the dogs running around, so happy, I love dogs they are always just so full of energy and happy with life. They are always happy to see you, even if they don't know you. And when they are calm they are just so adorable. I ball goes flying across the field and a beautiful dog runs after it, then retreats to its owner. I get up thinking about going home, it's my 17th tomorrow my "coming of age". I was excitedly nervous. Some people get soulmates but some aren't as fortunate, I grow nauseous just thinking about it. I mean what if I'm destined to be a loner? Like my aunt? Of course it didn't stop her from producing offspring but still, it's more the fact that knowing that their is no one in the world that was made to be specifically for you. That's what scares me.
My phone starts buzzing, alerting me of a call, grabbing my phone out of my pocket I check the caller ID and see it's my mother.
"Hi Mum"
"Hey honey! I'm out front the park"
"Ok, I'll be there in just a minute, love you, see you soon"
"Love you too, see you soon"
I pocket my phone and start my journey to my mums car. I wish I could get a dog. Mum says they cost to much, and with all my school work at the moment, I wouldn't be able to give it the attention it needs. So I dropped the matter knowing she was right. But still, it can't stop me from dreaming about having one.
I approach my mums car and I'm about three meters away when a dog comes up beside me and someone behind me calls me, spinning around I see a handsome man average height, not crazily built but not scrawny ether, bright green eyes, bright blue hair, smiling a little at my bemused expression, breathing a little heavy, from chasing after me. The dog smiles up at me and circles between us, tail wagging and just so happy!
"Did you drop your phone?"
My hand immediately goes to the nonexistent phone in my back pocket "it seems so!"
He hands over my brightly coloured phone "wow thank you so much, your a lifesaver!"
"Hey it's fine, you should really put a password on that by the way."
"Thanks, you didn't look through my history did you?" I ask jokingly.
He laughs at that, a contagious laugh one that brings a smile to anyone who hears it.
"I'm Dante by the way" he extends his hand, I take it and shake it firmly saying "Poppie"
He smiles at me, looking like he's going to say something when my mums door closes and her footsteps approach. I close my eyes begging for her to get back into the car.
"Hi I'm Poppies Mum, Imogen"
I open my eyes to see my mums hand clasping Dante's, I grimace at Dante.
"Ok let's go Mum" I pet the dog and thank Dante again, and drag my Mum back to the car.
"So who was that?"
"Dante, he found my phone and ran it to me"
"He's very cute"
"Mum!"

I found my self smiling like an idiot as I cut my cake, my mum said that I wouldn't find out if I had a mate until 10:45 and it was now 10:43, my excitement was crazy. 10:44, ahahaha a minute left until the name of my mate would appear on my wrist. My name will be on theirs if they are of age. Ten seconds, my heart lurched as the clock turned to 10:45 for a few seconds nothing happened then a name appeared and I squealed.

I sat at the dog park that I was at the day before looking around for, well I don't actually know what, but I sat there for an hour or so, admiring the way the clouded casting sections of the grass in darkness.
"Poppie?" The voice behind me startled me, I jump up and grab Dante's wrist to see in swirling letters
Poppie River
And on mine in bold sharp letters
Dante Cole
I look into those amazingly gorgeous green eyes, and bit my lip.
"Hi"
