"Oh, for the love of Merlin—"
"Bloody hell—"
Two brunettes cursed as their carts crashed into each other, and their foul mouths were followed by the soft yet firm reprimands of an older woman.
"Who taught you such foul language? Certainly not me or your mother, Rowen!" the woman scolded with a small smile on her face. "You both truly are a clumsy pair, aren't you?"
The darker haired girl's cheeks flushed a brilliant shade of scarlet, a chuckle escaping her lips as she lightly brushed away a few stray strands of her hair. "Our mouths aren't even half bad, honestly mum. Clearly haven't heard Moony."
At this, her mother simply tutted and shook her head, though it was more of a fond rather than a disapproving action at the mention of the unusual name. "Rowen dear, isn't it your brother's first year? Where is little Ben?"
The lighter haired of the two, Rowen, smiled at the woman. "He should be arriving soon with our mom," she stated, her American accent still making an appearance despite having lived in England for six years, "along with anything I might've left behind."
Rowen was an average height for her age, but her maturity and excellent posture made her appear to be slightly taller. Her hair would technically class as brunette, but it was a few shades away from being classed as blonde, and the waves in which it cascaded framed her face magnificently, enhancing her prominent features such as her gorgeous, golden brown eyes and her full lips. Those entrancing eyes of hers held a sort of adventurous and witty twinkle, one to successfully lure just about anyone in. Past her charming smile was a melodic laugh and a personality just as gorgeous. She had an unusual motherly instinct over her friends, even more than the standard loyalty and protectiveness. Her aura and presence radiated warmth, and she had a flirtatious nature. Despite that, the chance of her even being mildly interested was highly unlikely, unfortunately for the contenders. Her attitude with her friends was incredibly laid back and teasing, her playful personality shining through when around the people she cared about.
The other brunette standing on the platform was Thea. Thea has a softer, more gentler appearance to her, her features not as sharp as her best friend's. She was quite short, but it definitely accentuated her figure in a complimentary way. Her dark brown hair was pin straight and reached just past her collarbones, and it rested tucked haphazardly behind her ears. The rose of her fading blush matched the dusty pink hue of her lips and highlighted her adorable button nose. Although she could pass off as quiet to an unaware stranger's fire glance, her peers knew how loud and buoyant she truly was. It was an unintentional habit, but she was stubborn and opinionated, standing up for what she believed to be right and not standing down. Every once in a while, it did get her into trouble, but not as often as others. Her chocolate eyes held a determined fire in them, and in in similar ways, the two girls were very suited to each other.
"Well, mother," Thea heaved her suitcase back onto her cart and gushed momentarily at her black cat, Totem, "we have places to be, people to greet, trains to catch."
Rowen nodded in agreement, a mischievous grin plastering itself on her now excited face. "I agree, I believe there's a certain group of boys who have definitely missed our company."
Thea's mother narrowed her eyes at the two in suspicion, before laughing. "Of course, girls. Give the boys my best wishes! Who was that one you found attractive again, Thea?"
At her mother's embarrassing words, Thea's mouth fell agape as her eyes widened and she stuttered in disbelief. "None of them, mum! That's just gross — they're like brothers to me!" she exclaimed, blood rushing to her cheeks again.
