"Ok. Whatever. Have fun." I yelled as I went outside. I slammed the back door as I went off the porch heading to the dock. I sat down and rubbed my face. Early October is still warm. I was just trying to cool off from what I came home to. No he didn't cheat on me. No he wasn't walking around naked. I had told him that I had some friends coming over earlier and came home to my guests getting here before me.

Let's just say Mason wasn't very happy with who it was. That led to a heated argument leading me to sit here on the dock. The sun was already setting. Footfalls on the dock wood didn't bother me. Someone sat down behind me and wrapped their arms around me. I knew who it was. "I should have asked you earlier who it was in case they got here before you did sunshine." He said.

"I should have told them to get here after a certain time." I said. He scoffed. "Still. You could have been here after that time." He said. "I don't want to argue." I said. "Then let's not argue. Let's go back to the house, you sit on my lap, love on me, and be my girl." He said. "You sure?" I asked. "Then tonight, I show you how much I absolutely love you my ray of sunshine." He said.

I giggled. He picked me up and carried me to the house. I kissed his cheek. "There's no way we can argue without coming to an agreement." He said. "Are you sure about that babe?" I asked. He kissed my cheek. We both went back inside. He sat down in the recliner and put me in his lap. "Oh so that was the agreement." I rolled my eyes at the one that said that.

"You guys are just jealous that you don't have a girl." I said. "Whatever. Your the one sitting on his lap." Another said. Its only three guys from my high school's football team from senior year. "Didn't you go to the visitors side when we were playing them senior year?" The last one asked. "This one had a split lip and they didn't have anything to fix it with. He called me asking if I had any super glue in my truck and I went to get it and glued his lip shut." I said.

"Question. How do you split your lip while playing middle linebacker?" The first asked. "During that game, it was the center guard that had somehow gotten his hand into my helmet and somehow cut my lip." Mason said. "Ah. We're usually told to trim our nails before a game. Think he could have scratched your lip a certain way splitting it?" The second one asked.

"Could be possible." Mason said. I whispered something to Mason for supper tonight. He kissed me before standing setting me in the chair. He went to the kitchen and got the meat out of the fridge then outside to the grill. "What's he doing?" One asked. "Cooking me dinner." I said. "Ah. So you've finally got someone to cook for you." Another said.

"Shut up. You know I've dated him before and that he's a complete gentleman." I said. "I know. And that spring you tore into us bout badmouthing him! Then he showed up one Friday afternoon and heard one of us say something and his temper nearly flared. Cept you were able to calm him down and leave with him." The last said.

Mason came in and put the empty cookie sheet in the sink before washing his hands and coming back, picking me up and setting me back on his lap. He's in overprotective mode even though I know these guys, he doesn't very well. I laid my head on his shoulder. He rubbed one of his hands over my legs. They didn't do anything to try and provoke him.

All I can say is, at least they're not fighting.
