I awoke with a start as the sound of glass breaking into a million pieces was heard throughout my room. I heard it before I felt the tiny pieces of glass pierce my skin.

   What the hell.

"Dad" my screams echoed across the house.

The sound of my fathers' footsteps were heard as his feet pounded across the way to my room.

"El, what's wrong" he panted as he slammed my door open with enough force that I'm surprised it didn't fall apart right then and there. His hair swayed with the wind as it was a chilly night in New York and my window wasn't a window anymore as it laid across my floor. He came over to me and embraced me in a hug and looked at the glass displayed every where and the pieces stuck in my skin as the blood trickled down my arm.

"I don't know what happened, I was sleeping and next thing I know the window busted" I explained shakily. This has never happened before and it shocked me greatly. The place where I was supposed to feel the most safe, was now ruined. I don't care if you mess with me while I'm out and about but why the place that makes me feel the safest, the place I long to come home to after a long day but now here I am in my home with the outside world now being able to access me, and the air of the city in my room.

"Come here sweetie, let's go get you cleaned up". He softly said as he swopped me into his arms. I could hear the sorriness and the anger laced within is tone, I knew he would take this hard as he promised to make sure my home was always safe for me. He never wanted his work life to interfere with his family, especially after my mom had left us as she couldn't handle the life we live and instead married his best friend. She never wanted kids but my dad did, he felt it was somehow his fault I didn't have a motherly figure so that's when the promise came about when I was three.

"Taylor clean up this mess please and any evidence you have as to who might've done this to my little angle, you bring it into my office and I will look at it when I calm El down" He sharply gave Taylor a look and took one last look around the room and we went off into the bathroom but not the one near my room, the one by his room. It was at that moment that I knew whoever was targeting me would be taken down, and it won't be pretty. Theres only one thing you should never mess with in my dads life, and it's me.

He carried me into the bathroom in silence and gently set me down on the counter and started to look for the first aid kit. Opened the mirror, nope it wasn't in there and proceeded to open the cabinets and still had yet to find it. His nostrils started too flare a little bit and his ears were turning a slight shade of red and the lines on his forehead were becoming more and more noticeable. He was started to get frustrated. I started to chuckle in amusement as he was looking for it everywhere but it was literally right behind him on the shelf and it bright red letters it read first aid kit.

"What are you laughing at kiddo" clearly trying to find what was so amusing as I'm sitting on the bathroom counter with glass in my arm.

"Look behind you" I managed to get out the words in between my laughing. He turned around slowly and when he saw the first aid kit, he made a face of disbelieve and I just tarted to die laughing even more. It wasn't one of those cute laughs, it was one where you throw your hands around and almost can't breathe type of way.

"El, it was not that funny, now calm down before you pass out from lack of air" he chuckled. I could tell he thought it was funny. I calmed down and went to lift myself and move a little farther back as my laughing caused me to move around a bit and the tingles in my legs were telling me my leg was falling asleep but I sucked in a large breath of air because I put weight on my hand with a larger piece of glass in it.

My dad notice my tensing and heard the sound and immediately became alarmed, "Are you okay", he rushed out while grabbing my hand to inspect it.

"Yeah, I didn't know there was a piece that big stuck in my hand." I said shakily as it hurt a hell of a lot and more blood trickled out. I look around and noticed all the blood around me, there was a small puddle where my hand was and blood soaked onto my dad and I clothes. My breathing increased as I took in the sight, I hate the sight of blood and it makes me super light headed. I don't know how I didn't notice it before, adrenaline maybe?

Little black spots started to fill my vision as my breathing became more and more labored. They were like little worms dancing around in my view. I could hear someone telling me things but I couldn't  make out what they were saying. Calm down, everythings going to be okay, Taylor grab the car. Im not sure but the dancing worms filled my vision more and the hands of someone picking me up and then nothing. I saw and heard nothing anymore. No more mumbling and no more little worms, just an empty void.
