<•2•> (Royai One-Shot) - Hit and Run *3rd Person*

Today both Roy and Riza had the day off.

And, after mustering up enough bravery, Roy asked Riza to accompany him on a walk.

Roy and Riza walked side by side on the sidewalk in central, stopping occasionally at a vendor to look at the things they offered.

The sun soon began to set in the sky, casting shades of orange, red, and pink across the sky and clouds. Roy sighed.

"Well," he said. "It's getting late and we'll need to get into work early. "

Riza nodded, not wanting to depart from the Colonel though she would never admit it verbally. They stopped at the opposite side of the street from Roy's apartment, the sun long sense gone and the moon shining through the thick clouds casting a faint blue-ish glow, while the streetlights where casting bright yellow beams of light, some of them flickering occasionally. Roy cleared his throat.

"It's getting late." he said, looking at Riza.

"Yes it is..." Riza shifted her weight. "I better be getting back to my apartment. "

"Well, " Roy said a bit nervously. "You can stay at my place... So you won't have to walk home alone in the dark. " he added as an afterthought.

Riza considered it. She didn't have Hayate with her, so her twenty minute walk to her apartment would be alone. And in the dark.

"Alright Sir. " Riza finally decided. Roy attempted to conceal his smile in triumph. Instead he just nodded and started walking across the street, Riza close behind.

There was the sound of an engine roaring to life, and neither of them thought anything of it. Headlights shone to the left of them, and they figured the car would slow down or drive on the otherside of the road as to avoid them. Instead though, the vehicle picked up speed, driving straight for them.

Roy was the first to notice as the vehicle was quickly closing in, his ignition gloves in his pocket, and the car closing in fast.

Roy's first instinct was to get Riza out of harms way, so he whipped around and shoved her out of the cars path.

Riza hit the ground roughly, hitting the sidewalk hard. She sat up, a small trickle of blood coming from her forehead. She shook her head, trying to clear her mind.

"Colonel!!" she cried, as realization dawned on her.

She turned to the road, the car was gone a figure lay on the ground, perfectly still. She stood quickly, causing a small wave of nausea wash over her, that she ignoring, and rushed over to the figure. The street lights flickered.

Riza knelt down next to Roy, and put a hand over his mouth and waited a second. He wasn't breathing. She tried to hold back the tears that began to flow, but to no avail. It reminded her of the time Lust had told her Roy was dead and she believed her, she had lost all hope for life. But right now she couldn't lose it. There still had to be hope.

This time he felt for a pulse. She could only feel a faint one, but it was something. A small trickled of blood flowed from the corner of Roy's mouth. Riza didn't know what to do.

"Stay with me Roy... Just stay with me.." she whispered, looking around for some sort of phone booth. She saw none.

Riza felt herself begin to panic. But she couldn't risk it. And yet, she didn't know what to do. She put her hands onto Roy's chest and began pumping.
