Marcus

Tonight is our big game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and I am so nervous. I'm nervous because the whole team pretty much depends on me, so I can't let them down. I'm also nervous because my family is coming to watch me play. So, I definitely gotta show up and show out for them. I invited Rihanna to the game, but she said she's going to be busy tonight. I swear that girl is always busy.

Miracle: "Hey, daddy! I love and miss you so much!"

Marcus: "Hey, baby girl! I love and miss you so much more!"

Miracle: "When will I get to see you?"

Marcus: "I don't know, baby. You'll have to ask your mama."

Miracle: "I already did and she told me to stop asking her."

Marcus: "Okay, I'll talk to her about it."

Miracle: "Alright, bye daddy."

Marcus: "Bye, baby girl."

Miracle is my four year old daughter, and I love her so much. The only problem is that her mama, Breanne, barely lets me see her. She claims it's because I play pro basketball and I won't be able to watch her. I have an off season, so I could come get Miracle during that time, but Breanne won't let me. She won't let me see Miracle because she's jealous that I'm with a good woman like Rihanna. She doesn't want another female around Miracle, but she stay having other men around her. I guess I'll just have to man up and get full custody of my daughter.

"Good morning, Mr. West. How was your night last night?" My barber, Joe, asked me as I walked in his shop.

Every morning, the day before a game, I go to Joe to get my hair cut. Whenever I go on the road I bring Joe right along with me, because he's been my barber ever since I got my first haircut. Plus, I don't trust anyone else to cut my hair. Joe has been like a father figure to me, ever since my real father walked out on me and my mom after I was born. I tried contacting him several times, but he would always make up excuses about why he couldn't meet up with me. After a while, I just stopped trying to contact him. I want better for Miracle, though. I want to be the father to her, that my "dad" never was to me.

"It was alright. How was your night?" I asked him as I sat down in the chair to get my hair cut.

"Man, it was crazy. I closed up the shop last night, and I see this fine woman motioning for me to walk towards her. So, I went over to where she was, and the woman smiled at me, then said to the police across from her, 'Here is the one that raped me, officer.' I ran away from all of them, and went and got in my car." Joe said while cutting my hair.

"What happened next, Joe?" I asked him not believing what he just told me.

"I woke up." Joe said before laughing.

After he finished cutting my hair, I said thank you, then handed him a 100 dollar bill.

"Marcus, keep your money. You need it more than I do." Joe said handing the 100 dollar bill back to me.

"No, sir. You keep it, and buy your wife something nice." I said while handing the 100 dollar bill back to him.

"Thank you, Marcus. I truly appreciate it. Go out there and kick those Cavaliers' butt tonight, and get Rihanna to autograph this hat for me." Joe said handing me his hat.
