*Phone vibrates*

I eyed my phone on the nightstand. I slid my finger across the screen to answer the call while I continued packing.

"Did you leave for New York yet?", Travis, my friend that lives in New York, asked.

I hesitated then replied, "No. I'm still.. packing. Why? What's up?"

"There's gonna be a party tonight in central park. You wanna go with me?"

"Yeah, man, I'll go. What time does it start?

"It starts at midnight, so you'll have to take the 3 'clock flight. After you get off the 3 ' o clock flight, you should get here around 5."

"Alright. I'll see you tonight.",

"Alright, bro.", Travis said.

*Phone disconnects*

I put my phone in my pocket, and finished up packing. After all of my things were in my Cadillac Escalade, I looked around my now empty apartment. I still can't believe that I'm moving out of my first apartment. It's a bittersweet feeling, but I'm moving to New York, so that I will have more job opportunities. I turned the lights off and locked the front door. I dropped off the keys at the front desk and walked to my car. I looked up at the apartment building one final time before driving to the airport.

"Thank you for flying with United Airlines", the flight attendant said to me, and the other passengers, as we landed in New York.

I got off the plane, and made my way to the inside of the airport. I looked around and I saw some guy dancing like an idiot. All I could do was laugh after I figured out who the guy was.

"Travis, what are you doing?" I said in between laughs.

"My home boy moves to my city, and I can't be happy?" Travis said while continuing to dance.

"Well, I can't argue with that."

"Come on. I'll drive you to your place." Travis picked up one of my bags.

I followed him out of the airport and we approached a Bentley truck.

"Damn. My boy doing it like this?" I admired the car. "This model not even out yet."

"I know." He smirked "Put your bags in and let's go." He laughed

I stuffed in all of my bags and got in on the passenger side. I made sure to secure my seatbelt because Travis' ass can't drive.

"Where to, my brother?" Travis looked over at me as his finger hovered over the GPS screen.

"The flats apartments." I laughed

"Oh. Thats a block down from me. I already know where that is." He started the ignition and pulled out of the parking lot.

I looked up at all the buildings we passed by on the way to my place. They were similar to the buildings in Toronto that I was used to.

"The traffic is always slow through the city." Travis sighed

"Yea. It has always been backed up when I came."

"The apartments are right down there though." He pointed

"Cool." I nodded

We finally made it to the apartment building and he stopped in front of the door. I went inside and got my key and came back out. I grabbed as many bags as I could and stepped onto the elevator with Travis right behind me.

"You can sit the bags anywhere." I instructed as I walked inside my new apartment.

I looked around and everything was nice. And I had an amazing view to top it off.

"Yo, I'll be back around 10 to pick you up for the party." Travis stood by the front door

"Alright." I said closing the door.

I walked from the door and stood in the middle of the floor in awe. My apartment has a big living room, with medium sized kitchen, a master bedroom, with a bathroom that has a claw foot tub, a see-through shower, a gold toilet, and a gold sink, a walk-in closet, a regular sized bedroom, another bathroom not far from that bedroom, a balcony, big enough for a large group of people, and dining room with a table, that is perfect for me and my crew.

I stopped looking around and started putting my things up. I still can't believe I'm living in New York now. I feel like I'm dreaming. The only difference between my dream and my reality is that my dreams involve me having a girlfriend. I don't know what it is with me and girls. I mean I'm good looking, well I think I am, and I can rap and sing. There ain't many guys out there, that have both of those of qualities.

*An hour later*
All of my things are put up now, I couldn't feel more relaxed. I am officially moved into my new apartment, I'm going to a Central Park party tonight, and I will start putting in job applications Monday. I know what you're thinking, "How could I afford an expensive apartment without a job?" I can afford the apartment because I saved up money from my old job, back in Toronto. My job was at the Nissan car lot. I made a lot of money there, so I saved up. I didn't want to stay in Toronto all of my life, so I saved some money so that I could move. So, here I am.

I get off my bed, from laying down, take out some clothes to wear to the party, a big towel and a little towel, and some Axe body wash. I jumped in the shower and rubbed my body wash all over my body. I wanted to smell good, so good that I leave the party with a woman. After my shower, I put on my clothes, and lay down on my bed for a nap.

*Phone ringtone, "Motorsport", goes off*

I hear my phone going off, and instantly look at the time, then I look to see who called. It was Travis.

"Aubrey, are you serious right now? The party starts in five minutes, and you're over there sleeping."

"Naw, I was just resting my eyes."

"Boy, if you don't get on somewhere with that mess, I know you were sleep because I can hear it on your voice. How dumb do you think I am?" Travis said laughing.

"Five minutes isn't that long, Travis."

"It is when you live on far side of Brooklyn, and the party is on the south side of Manhattan. So, get up, brush your teeth, look presentable, and come downstairs and wait for me. I'm on my way now."

*Phone call ends*

I brushed my teeth and looked in the mirror. Tonight might be the night that I get lucky....
