The VIP area of the club was empty except for us. The faint beat of the music being played outside was all that could be heard. A soundproof one-sided mirror side separated us from the common area. We could see everything without being seen. Practical. When used to your advantage.
My short blood-red dress clung uncomfortably to my body and my hands were sweating under my leather gloves. But I was used to all of it. It was my job, after all. I was the baiter.
"Riley... " my father said trying to get my attention towards the job I was supposed to be carrying out.
I turned to face him.
"Your target's here, " he said pointing to a man.
I approached the glass to peer at the person whom I had only seen in pictures. He looked to be about twenty five, no older. A black leather jacket was thrown over his white t-shirt. He looked around, as if expecting an ambush. But seeing that no one was watching him, he sat at the bar and ordered a drink. He was safe. Or so he thought.
Little did he know that the vodka he was drinking would be his last.
