"Yoongi!!!" Jimin yelled as he too, ran for Yoongi who had collapsed on the floor. He pulled off the hoodie he wore over a black tee and used it to cover the wound and stop the bleeding temporarily.
Ji Chang and his goons had escaped from the studio swiftly, not bothering to turn back once. He was the biggest fool to think he could run away from this because Ji Chang was going to pay big time for what he had just done. I was going to make sure he did.
"Ji Eun, call the ambulance, hurry!" Jimin directed as he continued to hold the hoodie tightly to Yoongi's chest. I grabbed my phone that Ji Chang left on the table near the lounge and dialled the ambulance with bloody and shaky hands.
The ambulance told me they would arrive in ten minutes but I feared that would be too late. The blood didn't stop flowing out of Yoongi's wound and I could see the blood drained from his face.
"Yoongi, please hang in there," I begged between sobs, holding his hand tightly. His wavy hair was covering one of his eyes, and I carefully pushed it back.
Jimin hovered over Yoongi opposite to where I was sitting, with his brows furrowed and eyes worried. I could tell he was scared for his best friend, his eyes had said it all.
The paramedics rushed into the building and asked Jimin a few questions like how long Yoongi had been out for, and how much blood he had lost. They carried Yoongi out on a stretcher and left the room.
"How about we quickly wash up and go to the hospital?" Jimin asked softly. I nodded and Jimin came to my side to assist me. My legs were feeling like jello which made it so difficult to take a step forward and I was relieved that Jimin came to help.
We had washed up and were ready to leave this hell. "Let's go, Ji Eun." Jimin called as he grabbed Yoongi's car keys that he had taken from Yoongi. I obeyed and followed him out the door to the car.
"I called the cops, they'll be here soon to investigate everything. I told them we're going to the hospital to check on Yoongi so they might come there too." Jimin explained as we stood quietly in the elevator. I only nodded my head, unable to speak a single word.
The elevator ride felt like eternity, every second that was passing felt so hard to bear. Yoongi was on the brink of life and death and that fact kept hammering into my mind repeatedly as I took breaths that Yoongi was fighting for at the moment.
Jimin revved up Yoongi's car and hurried out of the hotel. He exceeded the speed limit on the freeway but who was going to give a shit at this point.
The hospital was about a twenty minute drive from where we were but at this rate we could make it in less time. I peered up at Jimin who had his eyes focused on the road, and it reminded me of Yoongi driving.
I thought of how his hands gripped the wheel and how his Rolex would glitter from the streetlights reflected off the dial. I remembered how focused Yoongi was when he drove and how his eyes looked so damn amazing even in the dark despite his hair just barely covering them.
What if I couldn't see that anymore? What if my last memory of Yoongi was of him being shot? No Ji Eun, stop overreacting.
My mind was stirring with so many bizarre thoughts, and I couldn't control it. We were almost there and I could barely stay in my seat the whole time. All I wanted was just to see Yoongi, and I had never wanted that more than now.
"Alright, we're here." Jimin said while getting out. I mimicked him and got out of the car as well, We headed in to the big building and right when he had entered, Jimin rushed to the counter. He asked the lady sitting lazily behind the desk about Yoongi.
"Min Yoongi is in surgery right now, he'll be there for a while. How are you related?" The lady behind the desk asked with a brow raised.
Without hesitation, Jimin answered. "I'm his brother and this is our friend." I stared at Jimin in astonishment. The relationship the two had between them was so admirable and brotherly. It reminded me of Mae Sung and I.
"Okay, well you can wait in the lounge." The lady responded staring back down at her computer. Jimin thanked her and glanced my way. I formed my lips into a straight line and nudged my head forward. We then walked side by side to the lounge near the surgery doors.
My heart hadn't stopped racing from the moment when the bullet hit Yoongi. It was as if Jimin sensed the worry throughout me when he gazed my way.
"Ji Eun, you okay? Don't worry about Yoongi. He's a tough guy, he gets through anything." Jimin comforted me and placed his hand over mine that had been resting in my lap. My eyes met his and I suddenly felt a bit more relieved. I was grateful to have Jimin here, or else I would have lost myself completely.
"Thank you, Jimin." I replied with a tired sigh. Jimin let go of his grasp on my hand and ran his hand through his hair with a faint smile. I noticed how worn out he was looking, and it made sense.
This night had taken such a turn and it turned for the worse. Never did I think Ji Chang would go this far. There was a limit to how much someone could do something hateful towards another, and Ji Chang damn well crossed it. I was never going to forgive him for this, and he was going to have to suffer the consequences of it.
"Jimin, I can't believe Ji Chang would do that! Can't you?" I asked, turning my head to him. But when I peeked at him, Jimin was fast asleep. His exhaustion was visible on his defined face and I felt sorry for him. Because of me, both Yoongi and Jimin had to suffer. Ever since I walked into their lives, I'd only brought misfortune. Especially to Yoongi.
I exhaled sadly, shutting my eyes. When was all this going to get better?
