A/N
So the first chapter came out really well.
Atleast I think it did? .___.
Okay sorry. Don't hurt me.
I hope somebody reads this story. Anybody.
Right now I'm not thinking of taking the story in any particular direction. I just want to flesh out the characters a bit.
So. Enjoy.
Beginnings.
I looked absentmindedly out the window, thinking about my conversation with Sky after the last class. I felt embarrassed at not having recognized him. I'd seen him in parties pretty often. I think he came to our house for one or two parties as well. And I hadn't even bothered to ask his name.
Was I so shallow, that I didn't bother to speak to anyone who wasn't good looking?
(Well don't worry about that anymore, he's hot now.)
"Hey Jade. What's up with you today? You keep zoning out." says my best friend Z with concern in her voice as she takes a smooth right turn.
Usually you can't tell that she is any different from the rest of us, but when she's worried, her eyes crinkle up and you can just barely make out her Asian heritage.
"Nothing. Just thinking about stuff." I answer shrugging.
"What stuff?" she persists.
"Just stuff. Nothing important." I reply.
"Okay." she says as I reach for my backpack, I can see my house in the distance.
As we pull up, I smile at Z and get off the car. She revs the engine and reminds me, "Oi. Crazy Cafe at 7 okay?"
"Yeah 7" I mutter.
There's something I'm forgetting. Something I have to do at 7. Something important. Come on Jade, think. What is it?
Wait! Sky! He's coming over to tutor me at 7!
"Z- Wai-" I call out but she is already halfway down the road. if I call her back now, she will make the biggest deal out of the whole thing. She'll want to know why I'd ditch a plan I agreed to already. She'll go crazy over the fact that a boy, who is not a part of my friend circle, is coming to my house. She'll ask me a million questions and I'll never, EVER hear the end of it.
I decide to just call them up and fake a cold later.
While I'm standing in the driveway debating my options, I see Sky on the other side of the road. He's walking home. His face is impassive and he walks with long, comfortable strides, his backpack hanging off one shoulder. His cheeks are slightly flushed and his dark hair is falling over his eyes as usual.
(As usual? You've only discovered his existence a few hours ago.)
After some time, I realize that I'm just standing in the driveway, watching him. So I quickly walk over to my front door and taking the key out of my pocket, unlock it.
Inside, I lean against the doorframe and after a moment of hesitation, peek out of the window to watch Sky walk the rest of the way up to his house and inside.
(Stalker)
Going into the kitchen to get myself a glass of water, I make a mental to do list. Mr Collins has already assigned us an essay about the various connotations of the word "Love" and there is a Physics worksheet to complete.
But, neither of those are required to be submitted tomorrow. So. Procrastination it is.
I walk upstairs to my room and boot up the PC.
