Hermione.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!" Ginny screamed in the middle of the crowded corridor, grinning ear to ear.

Several heads turned, but I ignored them.

"Oh my god, my ship has sailed." She mumbled, clutching her chest in a painful manner.

Suddenely she turned to face me, a crazed look on her face as I took a step back in fear.

"Hermione, do you realize that you just made my day, my year, my life?" She asked, slightly panting. I looked at her, bewilderment taking over my features.

"I'm so confused right now..." I mumbled, still not understanding this girl even after 3 years of friendship.

"So, how was it?" She inquired, nudging my arm teasingly.

I blushed at the thought of Viktor's lips on mine as a small smile spread across my face.

"Not to sound cliché, but it was... magical." I said, my heart skipping a beat.

"His lips were so soft, and he was a really good kisser." I added as Ginny grinned besides me.

"So, did you feel the fireworks and the tingles?" Ginny asked, clapping her arms excitedly.

"Yes, yes I did." I answered, remembering the previous night as a giddy feeling rose in my chest.

"Are you and him a couple now? Please tell me you are." She demanded as I let out a breath.

"No, we are not official yet." I said, keeping my mouth shut about the whole 'Evangeline' thing.

"Ah man, why not?" Ginny asked again, making me feel just a bit annoyed with her. She can be very nosy sometimes.

"I don't know, he hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend yet." I lied, knowing that the two of us were trying to keep the whole 'girlfriend-boyfriend' thing low because of his past.

Ginny pouted in disappointment but said nothing, and we continued walking side by side in silence.

"What about you and Harry?" I asked, my eyes flickering briefly to her face.

"He seems content with his crush on Cho, so I'm not interfering or trying to get him to like me." She answered, a sad look on her face.

My heart broke for her as I realize that I haven't been the best friend of the year, since I was too busy with Viktor and Evangeline.

"I respect the fact that you are giving him space so much." I started, looking ahead of me, noticing that the hall was less crowded. "You've had this crush since forever, yet you still remain cool about the thought of him liking someone else. In most cases, people would tend to do a lot of crazy stuff to get someone's attention, but I'm glad you're not one of them." I said, my words reminding me of a certain someone.

"But darling, you have to accept that maybe you two aren't meant to be. So how about you give yourself a chance with someone else? You deserve so much better than someone who makes you wait, no matter how cute or attractive they are." I rambled, suddenly feeling a spark of anger towards my other best friend, Harry. People can be so oblivious sometimes.
