Divine (Daniel Sahyounie) Chapter 3- Bend In The World
Third Person Point Of View
May 30th
"What did you find out?" Clancy asked, walking back into the viewing room. "She is two, almost three, her name is Divine, she really hated it there, and her father is Daniel Sahyounie." Diana replied. "Great, let's search her." The group moved to the computer where they searched for Divine.
"Well, at least Crystal took her to the doctors." Derrick said.
"Search for Daniel." Clancy ordered. "867-5309." Diana read out. "Call it, I'm gonna go check on Crystal."
Daniel's Point Of View
I laughed. "Hell no!" James yelled, we were playing video games, at Janoskians house.
It was my favorite place to be, we bought it with all of our money. It isn't always clean and smells like shit, but I still love it.
My phone started ringing, I sighed, standing up and going into the other room. "Hello?" I answered.
"Hi, this is Diana, with CPS, are you Daniel Sahyounie?" A woman on the other line replied. "Yes." I answered, trailing off.
"Are you aware of a Crystal Joel?" Diana asked. "Yeah, she was a girlfriend I had a while back."
"Are you aware of Divine, your daughter?" She replied, my world stopped a bit... A child? She had my kid? The background noises blurred, my heavy breathing the only thing my ears could pick up. "W-what? D-daughter? Ugh. Um. No, I wasn't aware."
"Daniel, maybe it's best if you come down to the local jail.." Diana sighed. I gulped. "Okay."
I wasn't sure what was happening, what was gonna happen. I was still trying to process the daughter thing.
"Jai! Come here!" I yelled, Jai came into the kitchen. "Yeah, what's up?" He asked. "Jai, come on, we have to go somewhere, but you have to be quiet about it." I told him, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Ugh, sure. Where are we going?" He asked. "Local jail." I answered, walking out of the kitchen, with Jai trailing behind.
"Where are you guys going?" Beau asked. "We are going to pick up some food, we will be back in an hour to two." Jai covered. "Why so long?" Luke asked. "We are going to eat there." I replied.

"Are you Daniel Sahyounie?" An older looking lady with dark brown hair and light brown eyes. "Yes." I answered.
She stuck her hand out. "I'm Diana Lloyd." She introduced hersself. "And I'm Daniel Sahyounie and this is my friend, Jai Brooks." I told her, she smiled and waved.
"Okay, so follow me." Diana smiled, before turning around.
"She's a beautiful girl. I talked to her for about twenty minutes, she's smart, wonderful. She was the one who told us where Crystal and Jesse were. She'll ignore you if you don't whisper." Diana started.
It was crazy to be honest, a lady was telling me about a daughter that I didn't even know I had. She didn't say anything about Crystal, what happened to her? Who is Jesse? Was I supposed to step in and take care of her? I couldn't do that, I'm about to be twenty! I can't be a dad! I don't know the first thing about being a dad, let alone doing it alone. I drank, I smoke, I do bad things, how is that supposed to be good for a kid.
"Daniel, have you talked to Crystal at all?" Diana asked. "Um, no, not since we broke up." It barely came out as a whisper, my throat was dry, mind was running in circles. "Did you ever have unprotected sex?" She asked. I took a deep breath. "Sorry, it was so long ago, I can't remember." I replied.
Diana opened a door and Jai and I walked inside, it was a viewing room. "She has been here since noon, she has been coloring the whole time. Do you want to talk to her, do you need time, do you need me to explain it again?" Diana said. "Explain it again."
"Well, we have been watching Crystal for about two weeks, within that, her and Jesse sold about twenty packages of drugs. That's enough to put her away for an extremely long time, Jesse too. We finally got all the evidence we needed like: Where she has been getting the drugs, who all she is selling too, excreta. We finally got into her apartment, Divine told us where they were hiding and where the drugs were. She is very smart. anyways, Divine is only two and with her mother going to prison, she needs a caretaker... You being her dad, we thought it was be best if you did." Diana explained, she studied my worried look for a minute, before starting again, "If that isn't in your best interest, there are other options." I stared at the little girl, Divine, she was coloring. "Like what?" I asked. "Foster family, orphanage, maybe a relative."
"Can I have a minute alone?" I asked, turning back towards her. "Of course. I'll be back in about ten minutes, Officer Clancy can tell you more about Crystal's case and depending on what you decide, what will happen to Divine." Diana explained. "Daniel, whatever happens, it isn't the end of your world, unless you make it, the end of your world."
