Chapter 9

7 hours till war...

"It's been a while has it?" I asked, Peter nodded. "I've missed crime fighting." He said. I nodded and kept walking. "Two men, spotted you. Seems like they're following you." Peter said.

"Yea, I got that." I mumbled. "Hey, sweet cheeks! Where you going, baby?" One of them called. I ignored them and ran into an alley way. I was trapped and turned around to see them walking towards me.

"Come on, let's have a little fun." The man said, he grabbed my throat. "Let me go." I muttered, he shook his head. "Don't be like that." He pouted, I kicked him causing him to fall, the other swings at me, I block and head locked him before slamming his head on the dumpster.

"Are they okay?" Peter asked, hanging upside down. "Yeah, he's breathing." I smiled, Peter stared at me with his white pads of his eyes. "Stop staring at me." I said, he smiled under the mask.

"Make me." He said, I pulled his mask off and saw his brown soft eyes, and his scruffed up brown curls. I cupped his cheeks and kissed him. He smiled before kissing me back.

"Come on. Let's get something to eat."

"Glad you got pizza. They're the best." Peter mumbled, chewing on the pepperoni pizza. "Who doesn't like pizza?" I asked, he smiled and dangled his legs off the edge.

"Look I'm sorry that I got us into that mess few nights ago." He said. "It's fine. I enjoyed it...Every last bit." I smiled, he grinned and looked down.

"We should--" Peters sentence was interrupted by an explosion in the distance and I got up. "Friday."

"Yes, Y/N?" She said. "Call Tony right now."

"Calling Tony."

"Hello?"

"Dad!" I said, I heard shuffling on the line and groans. "What's going on? Are you okay?" He asked.

"Me and Peter spotted a explosion on--uh Alson Avenue." I said. "Alright, stay there! I'll get the others, they might be back." Tony hung up and we ran towards the explosion.

I looked at my watch and slid it across my hand, putting on my iron suit. "Come on!" I said, I flew up and Peter followed me, running on the roofs. "Are we gonna wait for them?" Peter asked. "No. They're not gonna make it on time." I said.

"Woah." Peter stopped at the edge of the roof and I landed next to him. "Is that a portal?" He asked, the portal just tore up the ground and the street lights flickered.

"Somethings not right." I asked. "They must've planned to come back?" Star Lord said. Tony was in the other room because Wade and his X-Men were talking to him. "It has to be that Batman dude."

"But why is he coming back?" Gamora asked, we all started to argue of what the heck is going on, till Tony walked in.

"Hey!" He yelled. They all quiet down and he sighed. "The X-Men said they can't do this. They're leaving."

"What?!" Everyone exclaimed. "Now everyone calm down! These people will not beat us! Look at us!" He gestured to all of us. Everyone looked around and gazed at one another.

"They don't know what they're facing. I can tell their people aren't that big as us. But I'm telling you, if life gets hard, it means you leveled up."

"Oh god not that line again." I muttered. Tony rolled his eyes and sighed. "What we need is confidence, we need to be calm and strong. We can't lose." I said. "God you sound like your father." Jim said, I glared at Jim and shook my head.

"Let's just get some sleep guys. I'll see you all tomorrow." Tony said, they all nodded before saying goodnight and heading to their own quarters.

Peter followed me to my room, standing next to me on the balcony. "I don't know if this is gonna work." I muttered, he gave a little look and said, "What do you mean?"

"I just think we're gonna be killed. I don't wanna lose you."

"Hey. I feel the same way." He held on to my shoulders and looked into my eyes. "I feel like I'm nothing without you." He said. "Just like when you are nothing without your suit?" I smiled, he rolled his eyes and kissed my head.

"I love you. Very much. I wish you'd just stay here and be safe without a scratch on you." He pulled me into a warm embrace, breathing in his scent on him. "I want you to stay with me." I said. He stroked my hair and smiled.

"I will never leave you."

"Promise?"

"I promise."
