The Perfect Pair: Gabby and Cade

The Prologue ❤️

Broken guitar in hand, long dark hair flying in front of his face, Cade walked briskly with his cell phone in hand. "Turn left? I thought you said turn right?" He shouted over the crowd of people into the phone. Cade was lost in a city, and he didn't know what to do. Desperately, he turned in circles looking for someone who could help him. Suddenly, he felt a tape on his shoulder. A girl a bit younger than him stood behind him. A vision in white, she stood with her hands on her hips, a small smile fixed on her face. Her platinum blonde hair bounced in crazy curls around her head. "Are you looking for something?" She asked. Cade wiped his hair from his face, and dropped his phone to the side. "Yeah, my guitar is broken." "I'm looking for Perry's Music Shop, I can't seem to find it." The girl nodded, "Follow me." Cade hung up the phone, and followed the girl as she led him around a corner. They walked in silence for a few minutes, then, the girl said, "So, my name is Gabby." Cade smiled and responded, "My name is Cade." "So, are you a musician?" Gabby questioned. "Actually, I'm auditioning for The Voice," Cade responded quickly, "My audition is in three days, and I need my guitar fixed by then." "Holy Monkeys!" Gabby exclaimed. Gabby and Cade both laughed at that statement, and Cade saw something he hadn't noticed before, Gabby's canyon deep dimples. "I've always wanted to audition for a singing show like that, but I'm going to wait a few years," Gabby stated. Cade simply nodded in understanding. Gabby led Cade down a couple more twists and turns, then stopped at a small store with a sign that dangled above a broken window. "Here we are!" Gabby announced. "Thank you so much for escorting me, Gabby."
"No problem, God's blessings on your audition."
They waved goodbye and with that, Gabby turned and walked off, thinking to herself "Maybe, just maybe, I'll see him again."
