The waitress was a bit shocked that when she walked back to her most interesting table of the day, the alternative looking girl sat quietly picking at her fingernails while her "vampire" friend stared with her jaw dropped, sounding like she was trying to find the proper words to say.

"Here are your food ladies! And if you need anything else, just holler for me." The waitress dropped the food in front of the two friends while more noises were barely seeping through April's mouth, and went off to the more sane tables she had to cater to.

"I haven't heard you mention Chloe in almost two months! Have you been seeing her?" April blurted out. She didn't want to think of her best friend as someone who could do that to someone, but she was blindsided by the whole thing.

Beca shook her head, picking up a French fry next to her cheeseburger. "No, not at all. She fixed my hand, actually." Beca slightly flushed. "Stitched it up, to clarify."

April crossed her arms, leaned back, and shook her head slowly. "Why didn't you tell me you saw her?"

Beca dropped the fry and rubbed her forehead, rubbing the guilt out of her pores. "I didn't want it to be a thing, and now it's definitely a thing that I don't know what to do with. Especially because she knows how I felt." Beca paused. "Feel." Beca sighed and put her head in her hands. "Felt."

"The soulmates thing?" April knew that Beca was convinced Chloe was her soulmate, but didn't know how Beca could be so sure, or so masochistic. Beca didn't tell anyone about the watch.

The shorter girl picked up her head and took a bite of her burger, nodding. "She thinks the same about me now too. I think."

April coughed out a laugh. "What're you going to do Beca? I mean, to recap here, you met this Chloe back in college, fell in love, got used and heart broken, but all of a sudden she magically shows up in your life, stitches up your hand and now you're in love with her again? Even though you're in a stable and healthy relationship with Kristen who you just told that you loved her yesterday after cheating on her?"

Beca glanced at her friend's face and looked back down at the wooden table. "Well when you say it like that it just sounds so dramatic."

April's big eyes got even bigger. "That's because it is that dramatic!"

"I know April okay? Trust me I am very aware of the amount of fucked up stuff I have done in the past 24 hours." Beca's phone vibrated in her jean pocket. It was a text.

"Lesbian lover or lesbian mistress?"

Beca laughed sarcastically. "It's Kristen, she just wants to know when I'm going in again for that job interview at the music company." Beca pursed her lips. "Plus, Chloe's bisexual."

April rolled her eyes, but Beca didn't notice as she was texting Kristen her reply. "You really had to correct the semantics of that sentence?"

Beca locked her phone and put it on silent before putting it back in her pocket. She raised an eyebrow at her friend. "Sexual identity is important. Anyways, you know I try to be conscious of that stuff especially when I can recognize that I have internalized biphobia going on…"

"Wonder where that issue stemmed from?" April muttered as she ate her last piece of chicken. Beca stared. April looked up and opened her mouth, full of half chewed chicken and fries.

Beca laughed and felt the tension in her release for the first time since she woke up yesterday. April was blunt and weird, and it easily made her Beca's favorite person to talk to. It reminded her slightly of a thinner and American version of Fat Amy, in a way. Beca was always remorseful that she cut contact with Amy after Beca left Barden.
