"Cell number six-eight-one is charging!" The loud claps of boots on the ground startled the men locked away. "Stop him!" The man was nearly slipping on the blood-splattered flooring. His feet were aching and his ears rang from the shots of guns. "I swear to God, if he escapes, all of you will have a gun stuffed in your throats!" The warden was literally raging, spittle flinging from his shouting mouth as he gestured for the men to chase down the man.
The man slid his hand across the stark walls, paint chipping off as he did so.
"You won't keep me here in this hell," he yelled. "I deserve freedom! I did nothing wrong!" The warden was on his tail, keeping his gun steady.
"The only freedom you'll get is the freedom that gets you deeper in hell, rotting with Satan!" The man finally slid, finally. He went face-first into a pool of blood, the warden now fully looming over his cramped body.
"So what?!" He snapped, pushing the warden back. "I made a few little crystals. How did they affect anyone?" The warden wrapped his free hand around the prisoner's scarred neck, a devilish stare.
"Somewhere out there in that world, there are some helpless people. Those people will soon suffer the ridiculous things you made of that magic!" His lips were curled, as if he were changing form. He looked new. But, no, he wasn't. It was rage taking him over.
"Those people don't know what's coming, you prick, and you don't know either!" Before the man could attack with anything, the warden rose his gun, pulled the trigger, and. . . there. There lay the body of another."What a stupid little bastard," the warden snarled. "Think again if you can escape my prison." He spewed spittle onto the man's face. "Ken, go find the coordinates of that experiment. We're shutting it down now." The man was by his side, holding a piece of paper. He was somewhat young, maybe in his twenties.
"Yes, sir, but we've already done so," he stuttered. "The medicine is gone." The warden sighed and slapped his palm on his sweaty forehead.
"Expect the worse, then."
