Starscream the Opal

chapter 7

"Starscream what are you doing?" Knockout asked as Starscream walked around the edge of the warship. It has been 14 years since he was born and he was proving to be a challenge. "Knockout I'm not a sparkling anymore i don't need you watching my every move." "He does when you're doing stupid scrap like that." They looked over to see Megatron as he walked over to Starscream. "Come on dad I'm a big boy now i can make my own mistakes." Starscream whined. Ever since Opal had given up her physical form to give Starscream his life Megatron was very protective of his sparkling. "You're only 14. You can't just waltz around on the edge of our warship like there's no tomorrow. There's a million things that could go wrong." Megatron said as he picked Starscream up by the shoulders and carried him away from the edge. He put Starscream down and lead him to the throne room, beside his massive throne was a smaller one that fit Starscream perfectly. "You're the prince of the Decepticons. You should stay here and be safe." "But the clone gets to have all the fun." "Clones can be replaced, you can't." Megatron said in his this-conversation-is-over tone as he sat Starscream down. Starscream sighed and looked at the portrait on the wall of his mother, she was beautiful and seemed so happy. He looked at his father who was avoiding eye contact with the portrait. Starscream never knew why his mother wasn't around, whenever he asked his father would just change the subject. He ended up giving up the search for answers about her being missing from his life. "Dad." He asked quitely and saw Megatron look back at him with a small smile. "Yes Starscream?" "What was mum like?" He was taken aback by this and looked at the portrait. "She was brave and strong, no one could tell her what to do if they knew what was good for them. She truly loved you though, i love you just as much." He looked at Starscream and cupped his chin in one hand making him look up a little. "You look so much like her it's spark breaking. Sometimes i wounder. .....if she can see me through your eyes." He said and smiled giving Starscream's forehead a kiss. Starscream nodded and hugged his waist. "Thanks dad. I feel a little closer to mum now." He said and felt Megatron's arm snake around his waist. "You're closer to her than you think." He mumbled but Starscream didn't catch a word of it, he was content in his father's arms.

Steven was on the beach of Beach City. The gems were on a mission that he couldn't go on so he decided to spend time with Connie. Connie was reading a book to Steven that she loved when Steven noticed something in the sky...........something big! "Um Connie." "What is it Steven? Woah!" She said as the object transformed into a giant robot woman who was within seconds  accompanied by a second robot that was as slim as the female and had no face. The children ducked away hiding from the giant beings under the stairs. "Soundwave are you sure Lord Megatron said the energy spike was here? I don't see anything but......hello what's this?" The woman asked looking at the house as the transporter pad glowed making the inside of the house shine for a moment, the gems had returned. Pearl came out of the house. "Steven, Connie are you here?" She called out and her jaw dropped seeing the bots. "Soundwave i think we've found the source of the energy spike." The robot woman said with a slight smile. The tall faceless one let out long tentacles grabbing Connie and Steven who started screaming. "Steven! Connie!" Pearl screamed and pulled out a spear from her gem. Amethyst and Garnet raced out hearing the commotion. "Woah! I'm pretty sure those things aren't from Earth!" Amethyst said excitedly pulling out her whip while Garnet just nodded and summoned her gloves. They attempted to fight back but were quickly grabbed by the creatures tentacles. An image appeared on the creatures face and opened a portal, with the screaming gems and kids in his grasp the two mechanical beings walked through the portal and they re-appeared in a dim room. "Steven where are we?" Connie asked in pure terror. "I don't know, who are you people? Why are we here!?" Steven screamed and thrashed around but the tentacle held on tightly. They entered a large room where two beings sat on thrones, one was bulky and silver and the other was thin and silver. "So since you couldn't find the power source you got Starscream pets? Why do i even bother?" The bulky one said rubbing his temple in frustration. The female huffed. "Lord Megatron the energy signature is coming from them. I believe it has something to do with Opal." The moment she said that name Megatron looked up and glared. "Never say her name! Especially with that tounge of yours!" He growled and the small one covered his ears as if in fright. Megatron looked at him and sighed. "My apologies Starscream. Take your new pets to your room and play while i have a 'chat' with Arachnid." He said and Starscream nodded, Soundwave handed them over to Starscream. "Alright dad, I'll see you later." He said and as he walked out Pearl noticed the portrait. "What? But that's ......." she whispered as the door closed behind him.

"It's so nice to have pets. Dad said he would get me one eventually but five? He must really trust me." Starscream said petting Connie. "We aren't your pets! We're the crystal gems!" Garnet said crossing her arms. Starscream saw her gems on her palms and smiled. "You have stones in your hands....." He said pulling down the collar of his shirt revealing the Opal. "Did you have an accident at birth too?" He asked and they looked at each other. "We're gems. These bodies are just light, our physical form." Garnet explained and Starscream nodded. He yawned and picked up a box from under his bed. He placed it on the table and put them inside. "Sorry their's only one bed, i didn't expect so many pets. Have a good sleep my pets." He said gently and went to his birth for sleep. Connie looked at Steven. "What're we gonna do? My parents will freak if they find out I'm a robots pet." "We'll just have to wait tonight out then figure something out in the morning. It's probably a bad idea to upset them." Steven said and the others nodded. "You kids get some sleep, we'll be on look out." Pearl said and the kids nodded heading for the bed.
