Starscream the Opal

chapter 8

Starscream watched Steven and Connie sleep, the morning sun was just coming through his window waking him up. He used a long finger to gently poke Steven's cheeks as he snorred in his sleep. "So cute." He muttered and smiled at him. "May i?" Pearl asked and Starscream looked at her and nodded. Pearl studied the Opal and nods. "Yep, it's real. He's a gem." She said and Starscream looked at her confused. "My dad calls me a gem but that's because he sees me as something special in his life." Before Pearl could explain what she ment Megatron entered the room. Starscream placed a finger on his mouth to signal for silence, Megatron nodded and walked over as quietly as possible. "Starscream it's time to re-fuel. Leave your pets here, they'll be safe." He said and Starscream nodded getting up and taking his father's hand. As the two walked out of the room Steven woke up with a yawn. "Aw man, i had the weirdest dream. I dreamed that we were kidnapped and are now pets." He looked around and sighed. "Oh yeah.......so what're we going to do?" He asked looking at the Crystal gems. "We have a plan, but it requires one of us staying here." Pearl said and they sat in silence waiting for someone to volunteer.

Starscream sipped his energon and thought about his new pets. Pets are a lot of hard work and need lots of attention. He looked at Megatron who saw the look on his face reading it well. "Starscream do you want to keep all those pets? They're a big responsibility." He said gently and Starscream nodded. "Yeah, dad can i just have one pet? There's this one cutie that i really like." He said and Megatron nodded. "Of course Starscream, I'll get Soundwave to take the other ones home." He said and kissed his forehead. "I want the one named Steven." Starscream said smiling widely.

Soundwave entered Starscream's room and picked up the gems and Connie leaving Steven behind. "Steven!" They screamed but Soundwave ignored them as Steven tried to get out of the box but it was no use, he was panicking too much to use his powers to escape. "Guys! Don't leave me here!" Steven yelled but he was too late. With Soundwave's long strides they were long gone within seconds. He curled up in the corner and sobbed quietly believing that he'll never see his friends again. As Starscream walked into his room he heard Steven crying and went to investigate. Starscream scooped Steven into his arms and saw his gem glow thinking it was just a trick of the light.
