Warning! The following chapter has a bit of language...
It's not that bad, but I'm a typically 'clean' person with a bit of a guilty conscience, so...

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Pride glared at us for awhile. He sniffed the air.
"I know that smell..." He turns to Ed "Tell me, Edward Elric, do you think your father would step in to save you if I chopped off one of your limbs?"

Pride sends dozens of shadows at Ed, making a gauntlet of them, and pushing him up against a tree.

"Edward! Look out!" I cry as Pride sends an enormous shadow with jaws and teeth at Ed.

He ducks just in time, and yells as the jaws break the tree in half, like it was nothing. Pride quickly changes the directions of the shadows on Greed, and he flips backwards several times to avoid them, before Lan Fan comes to save him.

For a minute they sit in the tree they landed in. Greed is probably tormenting her about Ling. Their conversation quickly ends, as Pride sends another jaw shadow at them.

"Heads up!" Greed yells as the jaws snap the tree like a twig.

He jumps out of the way, but Lan Fan tries drawing a kunai, then clutches her arm. Ed was right. It's still not healed. Lan Fan falls, nearly straight into Pride's 'jaws', until Ed kicks her out of the way.

Fu is near me, moving Heinkel away from the battle. Greed lands beside me too.

"Get him out of here! Me and Leah will hold off Pride!"

I can't argue. Heinkel looks back at us, still in lion form, and says

"Sorry I couldn't kill the little bastard."

Greed smiles "Don't worry about it. I can't really blame you for that one. Even I consider him to be a monster."

We try and fight. Once Ed comes back, the three of us keep charging at Pride to no avail. It's like every move we make, Pride is ready for it. The Homunculus sends a shadow straight at me, with a pointed tip. Before I can react, Greed jumps in front of me, blocking it with his Ultimate Shield.

He saved me.

"Leah! Move!" He yells.

I roll out of the way, and Pride picks up Greed and Ed with his shadows and throws them to the ground. Lan Fan is behind a tree, but Pride has her surrounded by shadows so she can't interfere. At this point, we've all doubled over from either pain or exhaustion.

"Are you still breathing over there?" Greed asks

"Does wheezing count?" Ed replies.

"Now isn't the time to worry about others is it, Greed? As soft as you've become, you should worry about your own survival."

"Shut up you beast." Greed snaps.

Pride tilts his head, and fakes a smile
"What a horrific thing to say to your own brother, Greed. I might have to eat you."

"I promise I won't go down easy, brother." Greed spits through gritted teeth.

Pride smiles malevolently. He's ready to attack, which means whether we're ready or not, he's coming straight for us. Then he stops. He quits and looks around. I look in the same direction, to see Ed's father stepping on to the battlefield.

"So you've decided to show yourself, eh Hohenheim?"

"The hero always waits until the last minute to save the day." He answers promptly.
