Through the Darkness

Chapter 6

Cole's P.O.V

               Part of me wanted her to be afraid of heights, so I could hold her the entire way there. The other part of me wanted her to feel safe, to know that no matter what happened, I would always be there to protect her, to love her, to just simply be there for her. Most of all, I wanted to make her happy. I turned around to make sure that Maya was okay, and I saw that she was behind me, still in shock from seeing the plane. Walking back to her, I wondered what had happened to her, who could have caused those scars, and how they could do things like that to such a sweet girl. When I approached Maya she looked down, almost like she was nervous to be around me, I never wanted her to be nervous around me, she was and still is my everything. I held her hands and said "Please, Maya, don't be nervous around me." I couldn't think of what to do, so I dropped her hands, and reached up to her face raising it to meet mine. "I love You Maya, I will never stop loving you." 

Maya's P.O.V

         Those words he said were all it took for me to feel sure. It was the most sure I had ever felt in my life. With his hands still on my face, "Cole... I love you too, can I ask you something?" Putting my hair behind my ears he said, "Of course, what is it?" I slowly bring his hands away from my face, "Do you think we are moving too fast?" He took a step forward, he was so close to me I could nearly feel his heart beating against mine. "Does this feel wrong to you Maya?" I inhale deeply as he wraps his hands around my waist, "No, it feels perfect." His arms move up to mine, he places his soft lips onto my forehead and when he removed his lips, I felt as if a part of me was missing. Cole moved his lips to mine, not yet touching, and whispers "Okay then".  He started to walk to the plane and I followed him. As we got on the plane, it was as if I was in heaven when I was with him. The plane engine grumbled, and Cole noticed that I flinched as the plane moved, without hesitation, he held my hand in his. "I will always protect you." he reassured me. I looked into his eyes and said "I know." I thought to myself, That's what I'm afraid of.

Might not be able to post very often over the summer, I'm going to visit my dad and my best friend in Louisiana, I will try to write on the plane... but if I can't I'm sorry.
