You blinked for a second.
"Who?" You repeated.
Jeremy winced in pain and held his head.
"I-I wasn't supposed to say that. I'm sorry." He shakily breathed.
"No, it's fine! The faster I figure this out, the faster I get out of this thing. I think your Squip is in the loop, too. Maybe that's why he's so bent on assisting me."
"He did say that it's rather annoying."
"-But the main problem here is the fact that I have no idea who—"
You gasped.
"I-It's Michael! It has to be!" You grinned.
"What makes you think that?" Jeremy tilted his head in curiosity.
"Lately, I've been doing things that somehow link to his misfortune. I don't really want to go into detail." You avert your gaze and frown.
Thunder once again pounded outside. The pitter-pattering sound of raindrops radiated off of the roof, bounced off the walls, and danced around you.
"That's... weird." Jeremy crinkled his face in thought. "It's weird that it's him, of all people. What makes him stand out from everyone else?"
Jeremy's tone of voice was laced with a frustration that stabbed through the sounds of rain.
You looked around. You saw many people walking around the mall, talking, eating, just in general having a good time.
You spotted a couple holding hands, and walking together. They were sharing a milkshake, like in one of those cliché romcoms.
"I don't know." You sigh. "It's all so crazy. I wish I could just live like everyone else. I regret getting my-..."
You had nearly forgot!
"-my Squip!" You jolt in surprise and get out the little pill that could change lives.
Jeremy looked at it with uncertainty.
"(Y/n), are you sure you want to-" He started.
"Yes. It has to know what's going on, and how I can fix it. I can't just watch Michael suffer forever." You frown. "I need to get home."
Jeremy nodded as he played with an empty straw wrapper that someone left on the table.
"I guess I'll just have to trek through the rain." You shrugged.
Jeremy frowned in pity before looking out the windows to the storm.
You got up, exchanged goodbyes, and opened the main door.
You kept the pill encased in your palm, and the bottled drink close to your side.
You took a deep breath, and...
You ran as fast as you could down the sidewalk. You could feel the drops of rain hit your head at an angle as you ran, you could feel the bottom of your shoe dive into every puddle as you took a step.
Your shoes skidded across the pavement as you sprinted.
The ground felt uneasy.
You stopped running.
You stopped.
Vibrations and low rumbles traveled up your feet and shook your body.
You stood in between your destination, and your starting point.
You gulped, and kept running.
The shaking became more prominent.
The pavement unfolded in front of you, and you stopped again.
Streetlights faltered and crumbled to the ground.
Windows of buildings began cracking and shattering.
Earthquake.

Fanfiction"That one? Really?" The squip asked, shocked. "Yes." You replied. "So you got me to get him? Of all the other hot people in the school, you pick the one at the bottom, Micheal Mell." The squip scoffed. Micheal Mell. He was the only guy you wanted. ...
