Yeah I went out of state for half a week.
Forgot to tell you guys :DAnyways Colorado was GorGEOUS
Haven't been there in like, ten years. I was in LOVE with it.
Manitou was gorgeous, full of hippies and hikers and wonderful people in colorful shops and good food and AUGHOur motel was in Cañon City. A little America's Best Inn. The lady who checked us in was an ANGEL. Her name was Ivy and my sister and I bought her a little turtle and named him Poison (a joke about Poison Ivy, which is what she reffered to herself as)
The motel was dumpy, but it was clean and had working hot water and good air conditioning so it was perfect.Got badly sunburned on the first day when we went hiking around Royal Gorge and then went to Cave of the Winds. The cave was nice, but Colorado caves are not NEARLY as good as Missouri caves.
On a related note, if any of you are ever in the Ozarks, I highly recommend visiting Bridal Cave, you will not regret it.
On an UNrelated note, me being such a freaking nerd for Steven Universe, I bought one of those bags of dirt that you sift through the water and pan for gemstones and I was NOT disappointed with my findsWe spent Saturday and Sunday with this other Hebrew family and we feasted (we went to Colorado for Shavuot in the first place) and that was great. Lots of baptisms, played in the river, almost drowned, it was great.
We drove up through Boulder and ate some hipster food, and then drove up into the little mountaintop towns like Black Hawk and Nederland. Our family has a strong desire now to live in the mountains and I am DOWN.
Altogether, excepting the ten-hour drive there and back, the vacation was wonderful. I had a fantastic time.
Oh right
The art.
My sister bought me a pearl necklace kit. You had to shuck the oyster inside and put the pearl you got into this pretty silver cage pendant.
And because I'm such a nerd
This is what I created out of a picture of my pearl~Hahaaaa the design is garbage
But the drawing itself ain't bad for being done in three hours in a !oving vehicle in a thunderstorm so bad that it was toppling semis in the road
(That was pretty cool by the way, hopefully no one was hurt but I'm such a nut for thunderstorms)So
School must be out for a whole bunch of you!!
How's summer?
