Fly Before You Fall by Cynthia Erivo

Justin

This meeting was dragging on forever, and I couldn't even focus. The only thing on my mind was Nomi. My feelings were deep for her and I didn't know that was even possible in such a short amount of time. Yet here I was.

Yesterday when I left her, I immediately felt bad. But I also felt hurt. Why? Because I thought that we were on the road to being something. But how can we possibly be something when the whole world knows she's with somebody else?

That's not the only reason though. She's doing it for publicity. I mean sure, sometimes our managers make us do things to get more exposure but a whole relationship? It's wrong. I would know too because that was the reason for the breakup between me and Selena. She was just doing it to get more fame, but the whole time I didn't know. Overall though I just didn't like the fact that Nomi wasn't mine completely.

You haven't exactly done anything to change that though.

Yeah but....never mind I got nothing...

"Justin...Justin...Justin!" I snapped out of my thoughts to see the whole team looking at me.

"Uh... sorry, I'm just out of it. I'm gonna head out." Nobody argued, and I gladly got up and left. I probably didn't even need to be in there honestly.

"Justin wait up." I turned to see Kenny jogging up behind me. I gave him a nod as I sat down on an random empty chair in the hallway.

"You good man?"

I nodded taking out my phone,"I'm fine."

"Alright tell me what happened with Nomi." I gave him a confused look as to how he knew, ""Me and Omar are good buddies, plus I know your every move Justin it's my job. So I know whenever you're with her, which happens to be a lot."

I sighed, "She's dating that Kid Culprit guy for publicity."

"Ohhh, I see you don't like that." I shook my head. "Well have you told her how you've felt?"

"Sort of." I shrugged.

"No, not about the situation, about her."

Oh.

"No I'm worried it might scare her off."

"Have you talked to her?"

I stared at my phone, "No, I haven't tried and neither has she. I just didn't think she'd be the type to do that you know?"

Kenny patted me on the shoulder, "Not every situation will turn out like yours did. Maybe there's a reason behind it all." I shrugged and Kenny sighed as he walked away.

Nomi

I smiled as I entered the VIP section of the club, the lights flashing in every direction. After a long day of rehearsals all I wanted to really do was to go home and lay down...with Justin. But he wasn't communicating with me. So somehow, my backup dancers had convinced me to go out clubbing with them. I needed a release of some sort honestly, maybe this would help.

I started dancing without a care in the world. The music was pounding as I swayed my hips side to side. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned to see a waitress carrying a platter with two silver champagne bottles.

"We have Nomi in the house tonight!" the DJ announced and I grabbed the two bottles and stood on the table in front of me.

"WOOOOO!" everyone screamed as I waved the bottles in the air. I stepped down and plopped onto the couch.
