Vlad POV
Today is the second day that Danny is little and again he woke up crying because he didn't know where he was. I don't like when he cries so I scooped him in my arms and snuggled him. He cried for a little longer but then he calmed down. I feel like I can't really baby him because he is still old Danny.... well kind of."Do you remember me Danny?" I asked hopefully.
He looked at me thinking if knew me. I could see his mind was at war with itself. He looked down and muttered something I couldn't comprehend. Looked at me again and his eyes lit up.
"You're Vlad Masters!" He said gleefully ecstatic that he remembered.
I let out a breath I didn't know that I was holding in. I smiled at him and said,
"Do you remember anything else?" I said.
"I remember my name and that momma and daddy did something bad. Did they do something bad?" He asked.
"Yes they did but that is nothing you have to worry about." I said in a pained voice.
"What did they do?" He asked curiously
"Maybe I'll tell you in awhile." I lied.
I picked him up and set him on the stool in my kitchen.
"Are you hungry?" I asked looking in the refrigerator.
"No."he said a little too quickly.
I looked at him and he looked down twiddling his thumbs. He is a very bad liar. I lifted his chin up so he could look me in the eyes. He looked scared like I was going to hurt him.
"Are you sure?" I asked looking him straight in his eyes.
He looked down quickly and said, "Yes i'm sure."
"Alright, but if you're hungry just ask."
I said.I could see that he was in his fourteen year old mind when he said that statement. I was worried that he didn't eat often but I didn't push it. I wanted him to trust me.
"What do you want to do today Danny?" I asked.
"I don't know, what do you want to do?" He asked.
"Do you want to go to the park?" I replied.
"Yes yes yes! I meeeaaannn sure if you want to." He said.
"Well I want to let's go!" I said.
I picked him up and brought him to my car I opened up the back door and put him in the car seat that I bought. He looked at me.
"I don't want to sit in a car seat." He pouted.
"Safety first Danny." I replied buckling him in.
I closed the door and went to the drivers seat got in and started the car.
I heard him go hmph and he crossed his arms. I smiled, I have never had a kid before. It's fun but I like the old Danny too. I'll ask him if he can go ghost later. We park in the parking lot and I get out and open Danny's door. He can't unbuckle his seat. Those things really are childproof. I unbuckled his seat and he hopped out and ran over to the pond that had geese in it. He looked so excited."Can we feed them?" He said as he pointed.
"Sure. I said knowing that I couldn't say no to him. I have some goldfish if you want t-"
"Yes yes I want to!!!" He exclaimed.
I gave him the ziplock bag and we fed them. I was glad that they weren't aggressive. It was about 3:00 pm and I questioned myself if he needed to take a nap. I mean he is three, but he is pretty small. We were sitting on a bench now. I looked down at him and he was dosing off but his eyes opened again and dropped again. Yep he needed one.
"I think it's time to go home." I said.
"Okay." He said in a tired voice.
He didn't fight to sit in his car seat. He must be tired. Oh my God, he hasn't eaten anything all day. I'm such a bad parent. I have some animal crackers in the car. When I got in I looked back and he was still fighting his sleepiness.
"Are you hungry." I asked looking at him. He looked at me and nodded.
"Here," I said as I handed him the bag of animal crackers. He ate them the whole way home. When we got home I unbuckled him and carried him into his room. I laid him down and he looked at me.
"I need you to take a nap okay?" I asked.
"But I'm not tired," he said sinking into his bed and closing his eyes and then shot them open. He sat up and looked at me.
"I'm too big to take naps." He said.
He may be little but he's still as stubborn as old Danny. I looked at him.
"Okay." I said, but I had a plan.
"Let's go play!" He exclaimed trying to not sound tired but failing.
"I have something to show you though." I said.
"Really what is it," he asked his curiosity getting the best of him.
"I don't know you'll have to come with me." I said.
"Okay come on," he said.
I picked him up and brought him to my office and set him down. It was pretty cold outside and it was pretty cold in my house and I could tell he was cold. He would never admit it to me though.
"Okay, close your eyes," I said he did and I grabbed a huge fluffy blanket and went behind him.
"Ready?" I said excitedly.
"Yes!" He said.
In that moment I scooped him up and wrapped the blanket around him so he couldn't escape. He opened his eyes and struggled.
"Hey you tricked me!" He yelled.
"Yes I did," I smirked.
He struggled a while longer before giving up. He looked at me angrily, but I carried him to the living room and I sat down. He looked at me confused and I grabbed the remote and put on some classical songs. I rocked him back and forth and eventually his expression softened and his eyes closed and I knew he was asleep when I heard him snore. I stood up carefully and laid him in his bed and loosened the blanket up a bit and went to make supper.
After a couple hours supper was ready and I went to go wake up Danny. I went in his room and somehow he managed to tangle up all the blankets around him. I shook him gently and he woke up with a yawn. He smiled and stretched out.
"Come its time to eat." I said.
I saw it in his eyes again. " I'm not hungry." He said.
"Please." I begged.
"Fine," he said.
I picked him up and brought him to the kitchen. I made macaroni and cheese.
When I set him down he ate it so fast. When he was done I asked him,"Can I talk to fourteen year old Danny?"
"Kind of." He said.
"Can you go ghost for me?" I asked.
