It felt like centuries before you and Peter finally went back into the apartment. After that little kiss, the two of you stayed up their, Peter never letting go of you while you talked about nothing in particular. It was beyond relaxing, just watching the lights of the city while you rested your head against Peter's shoulder.
Peter drove you home around nine thirty, insisting that you couldn't walk home because the last thing he needed was for you to get mugged. Before you got out of his car, he grabbed your hand lightly and pulled you in, placing a soft kiss on your cheek.
Every time he touched you, you felt warm and fuzzy inside, something that you haven't felt with another boy. But you definitely weren't complaining.
Peter: is it cool if I swing by and pick you up? We can get coffee :)
That was the first text you got the next morning, bringing a smile to your face when you read it before texting him back that it was cool.
"Is it that boy?" Your mom asked, leaning against the door frame of your room.
You jumped in surprise at her comment, laughing a bit because there was no way for you to lie about it this time, "Yeah, he's coming to pick me up," You told her, sitting up in bed.
She smiled, "He seems really sweet," She said, straightening up before asking, "Are you two an item yet?"
You shrugged, "I don't know... We've kissed on multiple occasions but at school, we're just friends," You confessed.
Your mom cocked her head, "Don't rush it, sweetie," She said, giving you a reassuring smile before stepping out of your room.
Huh, funny thing is that I want to rush it, you thought to yourself, setting your phone down before getting yourself ready for the day. You decided to go for dark blue skinny jeans and a loose white top, an oversized beige cardigan and long gold necklace to finish the outfit.
You waited around the house for Peter to text you, deciding not to eat anything since you'll just get something with your coffee.
You were surprised when you got a text from your mom.
Your lover boy is waiting in the lobby ;)
You chuckled at her little nickname for Peter, getting up from the couch and grabbing your bag. As the elevator opened up on the lobby, you saw your mom and Peter chatting by the front door. He was listening to everything she was saying, a small smile creeping on his lips.
"Talking bad about me?" You questioned your mom once you walked up to the two.
Peter laughed and nodded, "Oh yeah, there are so many bad things to talk about," He said sarcastically, making sure to over exaggerate 'so'.
Your mom laughed at his sarcasm, "Tell her Peter, she won't believe me!"
You rolled your eyes, "Okay, okay," You said, raising your hands in defeat, "Don't you have work?" You asked, raising an eyebrow at your mother.
She gave you a warm smile, "I'm just messing with you," She said, telling the two of you a quick goodbye before heading out the door.
Peter looked over at you once she was out of sight, "She seems like a fun mom," He said, nudging me a little bit.
You chuckled, "To say the least," You replied, fixing the straps of your bookbag, "She's great though." Your mom was an amazing part of your life. She was always there to cheer you up when you were upset and everything she did was for your greater good. Like moving to New York. She knew how hard you were working to get into a good college and when she saw that Midtown S&T was an option, she jumped on it.
