Twenty-First Century - The night. Where there is no moon nor the star wish to shine upon the earth. Darkness is the only word to describe this cold night. The city never sleeps. Concrete jungle, light that never shut. A life that never sleeps. The sound is never quiet. A movement that never slows down.
Just by looking down from the topmost building on the hundred and two levels. The movement on the ground would look like ants crawling on sugar. From the Empire State Building, the sound of a siren from a fire truck or a police car nor does it from an ambulance. So many sicknesses, so many criminals and so many disasters happen in just one night. New York will and will never be a small state.
From the wave that drifts with the wind comes a signal entering a man's ear. The man dresses in a black combat suit. Shielded by another pair of clothes. Black Trench coat that moves with the wind moving past him. His glove hands held onto the cold metal steel. His eyes stare down the streets where he sees movements that are not that very suspicious. Another wave of the signal entered his ears. With the wireless earpiece, he clicks on the center button and receives an incoming voice.
" There's nothing unusual just the same night as before.... I'll tell you if anything happens! " he said
His eyes blink cutting the line off. He drew out his other hand holding a binocular and saw through it as he scanned the New York City street. Nothing happened on this one particular night. It's very strange suddenly this night in two hundred years, there's nothing happened. At the peak of this man's mind, he thought something was strange. Two hundred years ago, three thousand cases were reported each night. This night isn't any exemption. There must be something happening in the shadow no human can see. His theory is true.
At the midnight. The high-tech sports watch he wears beeped, vibrating into his skin. He looks down at his watch. The red dots blink as they move. The parameter he set had been breached. The red dots move very fast far from Seventh Avenue Street. The red dots suddenly appear to be a blur. The clear vision of the red dot wasn't shown just one dot. But another four appear from the west and the east. It looks like it chasing something.
"Jack on the line, do you copy? " Jack spoke quickly informing someone through the line. He keeps on watching the red dots on the screen of his watch wrapped around his wrist.
" Caesar on the line. What do you get? " a man's voice as calm as the water flying entering through the line. Jack is anxious hitching with the air as he speaks about the situation. "Movements on Seventh Avenue Street going south. Five unidentified movements moving very fast "
"Copy that! "
From the rooftop of an apartment in a Manhattan building, there are four men and one woman grouping on the rooftops. Their black combat suit blended well with the night. The leader of the group name Caesar receives a report from one of his men telling him some incident will happen if they don't move.
The five men move as fast as they can, through their skills and knowledge of the city's shortcuts and their military obstacle training since the age of eleven. Not a single complex environment could stop them. They aim to stop unwanted cases from rising and they have to act fast.
The fast movement of the boots clashing with the cement rooftop suddenly stops. From the point of their eyesight, they look down just to see a dark alley. Emerging from the cold night and the disgusting smell from the dumpster, a lady with blonde hair soaked with red liquid. From her right temple down to her neck and soaking her sleeveless shirt is blood. She's in a panic state. Her movement is an easy target for any sort of predator. The type of predator isn't the one human would know.
" HELP! HELP ME! "
Her scream broke into the night to get people's attention. There is none, that could help her. Her wrong way of turning has led her into the monster's open jaws. She brings this to herself. Coming not too far behind, grown men may be in the age of their mid-twenties or thirties. It mixes in that numbers appear moving closer to her. Other men appear just right in front of her. They all start to corner her.
