The army girls freedom.

Getting ready!

I was awake all night trying to guess what mama and aba might have thought about. I was really worried what if they said no .what will I do I couldn't disobey them .

I woke up in the morning. Today was Sunday so Aba will not go work. I got up brushed my hair and teeth and went to the kitchen to make breakfast for everyone. After a few minutes mama walked in the kitchen I thought she might shout but she didn't say anything just started moving around cutlery. I was confused why didn't she say anything? I got he breakfast ready and put it on the living room table. After a while Aba came to join us with our breakfast. Aba sat down and started to eat half way through he placed his plate on the plate and looked at me.

"Anaya I've made my mind up. You are my daughter and I want the best for you. I have thought about this through out the night. Anaya you are my only daughter and I want to make sure you stay happy and lead a happy life.You broke my heart yesterday but that wasn't your intention your just my little princess expressing her dream. Anaya I love you and I want you to enjoy your life. I'm letting you join the army" I looked at him. I nearly screamed with joy . I went to hug him.

"But in one condition you have to take care of yourself. It's hard out there. The army is a very difficult job It takes a lot of courage and bravery to be able to survive in there so just take care of your self." He looked at me with a sad smile. I looked at Mama and to my surprise she smiled.

"Anaya when you first told me about wanting to join the army. I wanted to kill you for being so stupid but then I thought just because I never had dreams like you it doesn't mean I destroy them for someone else. I love you more then anyone and I always will. I want you to join the army and go live a  life out there but then I think I'm going to be alone here without you with no one to nagg at. And what if something happens to you What will I do then. But Anaya if you can be so brave to join why I can't just say a simple yes" She was sobbing now as tears ran down her soft cheeks. I ran to her and hugged her trying to comfort her.

"ok ok ladies enough of the crying" Aba said trying to stop himself from crying.

"If your gonna join the army we have to make arrangements your not just going to magically join now.  Today we will go and get the form or whatever we need from the nearest army centre . Then you can do some research and we'll try to fix the interview for tomorrow. And by next week you'll be in the army" He said smiling happily. I looked at my beautiful parents I couldn't believe it that they let me it was the best feeling in the world.

"off you go then we need to make some arrangements." Aba said looking at me.

I ran to my room and quickly got in to my best clothes. I grabbed my purse and all the re- search papers I did about the Pakistani army and ran back to the living room.

"Woah that was quick. Your  a determined girl Anaya. ok come on now lets go" Aba said looking surprised. I smiled and walked out of the front door , kissing mama a goodbye. 

I sat at the back of Aba's motorbike. Clinging to his back whilst he drove off. It was a short journey. We arrived at a Army centre. I jumped down the motorbike following Aba inside the small room full of men wearing smart uniform.

"Excuse me ." Aba said to the closest man.

"Ermm I'm here for an application form. My daughter wants to join the army " the officer looked surprised. I didn't blame him It wasn't often the girls in my village even got out of there houses forget joining the army.

"ohh okay sir . Did you book an interview yet?" He said whilst looking through a file. 

"No. Why is there a problem?" Aba said looking confused.

"Ohh no I was just asking. I got a form here. You have to fill this and then do the interview." He said smiling at Aba.

"ohh ok thanks" Aba said , relieved.
