The mask

I didn't lose my hug, instead it was growing tighter. I'm squeezing him.

"You are a gangster in front of all, but to me you are always a kid Tae.

"The irony of life is that those who wear masks often tell us more truths than those with open faces."

They say wearing a mask wears you out. Faking it is fatiguing. The most exhausting activity is pretending to be what you know you aren't.

If you want people to love you for who you are, take the mask off." I said him.

"Will you make me a promise?" I asked.

"ye-s" he said.

"Just stop pretending Tae, be the real you. I like this side of yours, while the other side is just unreal. You are a better person than you think you are. I am missing my dad too; he stays away from me because of business and rarely visits me. I have been lately changing schools, and never had any close friend. But I regard you as one now, Tae. You are the one I have hated this much and liked too." I said from the bottom of my heart.

"I guess that will take some time... But thanks for caring Suzy." He said.

"Oh no thanks between us" I said with a wink.

Silence prevailed over again but this time it didn't last for long...

"But just don't hug me again without my permission." He said teasingly. I laughed and promised that I wouldn't.

"It's getting late. Shall we make a move?" he asked me.

"Yes but..." I hesitated.

"But what?" he asked.

"Can you accompany me? I'm going somewhere now" I asked him.

"Are you kidding me? You will be late to home" he said sternly.

"You care about me or you?" I asked him.

"Duh fine I will accompany you but only if you don't ask such questions again." He said.

"Hehe fine" I laughed.

We walked together as I directed. But it was really cold. I started to shiver badly. I felt suddenly something warm around me. It was him! He removed his coat and just wrapped it around me. It made my shivering lesser. But the best thing is it's him who has done this act of kindness and love. Unbelievable but it's magical truly.

He was surprised to find the destination at last. Guess where?

It's the BALL!

It had been hours since we started taking but still the ball hasn't ended yet. This is like my dream. And now I have the right person with me, Tae. I now understood that all these things happened for a reason. And the reason is really a great one hehe

I removed his coat and returned to him with sweet gratitude.

"Umm shall we if you don't mind?" I asked him out, it should be him instead.

"Are you sure?" he asked me.

"What I'm damn sure. And having a beautiful girl like me with you and how could be not asking me out. But it's me instead here asking you." I said.

"Huh, you know what. You are really funny at times especially when you call yourself beautiful." He teased me.

"Tae, stop teasing me. You are the one who don't get to realize that." I said pouting. He laughed as if saying me indirectly he does realize.

"But you should wear a mask for now hehe." I said.

He took out his mask from his pocket.

"Wow! We both have the couple mask, exactly same one. What a wonder" I thought.

I felt very happy, I was jumping up and down inside.

"I felt this would help me finding the one!" he said.

With those words, my heart nearly skipped a beat!
