The day was pretty normal at first. Me, Emma and Lauren ate breakfast together and we all acted like nothing was wrong, well, we tried to act like nothing was wrong but I could barely get myself to eat my pancakes.

I only stared at Lauren, who luckily was just talking about all the things she missed about us and what she wanted to do today. I swallowed when she told me about she wanted to go to my mom and see her again.

I wanted to bring her to her grandmother again but we only had one and a half day left and I could not fly to Ireland, go back, and give Lauren the best two days in her lives. The only thing left to do was skyping with her.

"I don't know if we can do that today sweetie pie." I told her with a soft voice full of regret. I was gonna break her heart so many times today, even when I promised to give her the best day of her life.

"But we can skype her, she will  be thrilled to know you are back again, we can do it right after we-" But then I figured something out in my head. I couldn't tell my mom; not that she would be gone in two days time and that I didn't knew for how long she would be gone, if it wouldn't be forever that I had lost her.

"You know what, we will call her later, we first have some fun thing to do. Do you wanna go somewhere? A theme park, to the cinema, whatever you like. I will make it hapen today." I said, trying to distract her as much as I could.

"Can we go to..." she started to think of a place we could go and I smiled when I could almost hear her brains cracking.

"What if we first finish breakfast and then think of a plan for today? We have plenty of time left." Emma said and I smiled at her, grabbing her hand and softly squeezing it. I loved that girl to death and she loved Lauren almost as much as I loved her.

I could not have asked for a better girlfriend than Emma, no one would ever be as fantastic, beautful, funny and lovely as her, not in a million years.

"Okay Emma! Can you please give me a pancake? They are yummie!" she smiled at the two of us and I felt my heart breaking in a billion pieces.

"There you go" Emma gave her a pancake and Lauren quickly ate it, like it was the last thing she'd ever eat. "Don't eat too much sweetie, you know that if you eat too quick your tummy will hurt." I reminded her and she quickly stopped eating, pushing her plate away o the other side of the table.

-----

After breakfast we cleaned and watched some tv while I was thinking of a way to remind her that this would be the last day here. I had to tell her again soon, if I did that, she would enjoy her day more, she would know that I did this for her.

"Princess, do you still remember yesterday?" I asked her when we sat on the couch together. She turned her face to me and nodded. "Of course daddy! The movie night was awesome!" I sighed, this was going to be harder than I thought it would. She really didn't remembered.

"I know, but what happened after the movie night? Do you remember that- that daddy woke you up and had to tell you something." For the second time that morning I could almost hear her thinking. But this time, she did came up with the thing she had to remember. I saw it in her eyes, tears were forming and her lip started to tremble.

"It- it was not a dream?" She asked with a small and scared voice, a voice that could break even the strongest heart, and I had to tell her that she was right, that what happened last night was not a dream at all.

"I am so, so, so, so sorry sweetie, but it was no dream indeed." and when the last wordt left my lips, I started crying too, hugging my angel as tight as I could, whispering how sorry I was for doing this to her.

"I want you to know that I will do everything, everything that I can to make you have the best day of your life today, and know that daddy will do his best to get you back as soon as possible."  I whispered and lifted her chin up gently so she would look me in the eyes, a hard moment, but a needed moment. She needed to know that whatever happened, it was completely the oposite of what I wanted and that I would die to have her back with me again.

"I know daddy. I know but I don't wanna leave you and mommy." I kissed her head and looked at Emma, who's facial expression proved that I didn't made it up. Lauren called Emma her mother. She saw me and her as her real parents and we had to give her up. Maybe for a little, but we still had to give her up. The sadest moment of my life.

"Can we just stay home daddy?" Lauren asked me and I couldn't agree more with her. We just had to spend a day as a family. Nothing more, nothing less. A family, for one more day, we would be the example of a perfect family.

-----

It was around 7 p.m. when the doorbell rang. I was just about to put Lauren to bed, everything already packed for the next dreadful day, so Emma agreed on answering the door. The shock bigger than anyone could have ever suspected. It was him, the black cab was waiting and his face had nothing of emotion in it. He was as emotionless as a person could ever be.

How could you ever live with yourself if you have to do things like this on a daily basis? Tearing families appart, I wouldn't even do it for all the money in the world. The love of a family is the most precious thing ever and no one should have the power to break something like that.

"We are a bit early, but the new family is waiting for her already. So if you could please give her to us, we don't want to make this worse right?" his cold voice spoke and I turned around on the staircase, Lauren on my hip, confused and scared.

"This is unfair!" I shouted to him but it seemed like he couldn't care. He was probably used to this, to the screaming, the begging and the tears.

"We were prommissed two days left with her! You can't take her from me!" I started crying and as childish as I was, had the feeling that I should and could run, run and never come back again. But that was not an option, so with pain in my chest, a lot of crying and thousands of prommisses that I would fight for her, I gave her away.

"I love you angel! Please always remember mommy and daddy's love for you! We will get you back!" I shouten when the cab drove away, with my happiness inside of it, crying her heart out, just like her father.
