Taro parked his car by the side and got out of it as fast as he could.

»Hey you!«, he screamed to her with his heart beating in his throat. A car could have come any second.

»Get away!«, he carried on while he was running to the little girl. Finally he stood in front of her, but she didn't move. Wide-eyed she simply looked at him.

The next moment Taro thought he heard a car. Immediately, he took the toddler on his arm and ran to the side of the road. Just a flash moment later he saw that car racing past them.

»Oh my god«, he said breathless. »That was so close!«

Taro held her tight in his arms like there was still danger. »What's your name?«, he asked her and was not sure about what he had to do.

The silent girl kept staring at him. He wondered if he has ever seen eyes that amazing. He recognized silver speckles in her deep blue iris, enclosed by a midnight blue ring.

Her little hand reached out to his cheek. She looked fascinated when her fingers touched his three-days-beard. Her fingertips caressed his stubbly skin up and down. That feeling made her giggle. It was a quiet giggle. Mixed with excited squeaking, it warmed Taro's heart.

Before, he could have never imagined that such a small human could ever evoke such overwhelming feelings in him. But at that day Taro only had to look at her being happy, and he felt kinda happy.

Like a sun, Yvie made him shine.
