A college student named Alex, could not afford a dorm room to himself so he decided to rent an apartment just down the street from the university. One day he left to go to class placing a glass of water firmly on his nightstand. When he got back he noticed it on his desk. He was confused but ignored it.
Everyday this happened, he sets his belongings down and when he comes back they are either across the room or nowhere to be found. He decides to get his friend's help.
"I don't get it. I swear I put them in one place but its like when I come home they float to another place." Alex tells his friends at a local diner.
"Maybe you're just going crazy, haha." Jokes his friend Josh.
"Shut up Josh, he's not going crazy." says Sophie, "I dont know if it's true but I think someone is breaking into your apartment."
"Really? Maybe...but the police can't find anything out if there is no evidence." Alex says.
"Yes, but I know how we can make evidence. Hide a video camera somewhere in your apartment then when you get home press pause and replay the tape to see if there is someone breaking into your apartment." Sophie explains.
"That's a good idea, but I don't have a camera." he says.
"You can borrow mine." Josh says.
And so the plan was set. The next morning Alex hid the camera behind some books on his nightstand. It was a normal day at school and Alex completly forgot about his plan.
He got home and sat down to watch television when his phone rang, it was Sophie.
"Hey did you get the tape?"
"Oh shoot. i forgot to stop it." he says and rushes over to the camera and stops it.
"Ok, I am going to press play."
"K, stay on the phone with me and tell me what happens."
Alex looks threw the tape, "I see myself leaving." He fast fowards and sees his door open. "My doors opening!"
"Who is it?"
"It's a woman, and she has a knife."
"Oh my gosh."
"She's just walking around and messing with my stuff. Ok, now she went into the closet and closed the door." Alex explains to Sophie.
"Wow thats scary. You should go take that to the police." Sophie says.
"Yeah I am going to do it right now." Alex gets up and walks to the door.
"Wait Alex, did she ever lea-" Sophie yells into the phone.
"Sophie, I have to hang up now, I'm leaving." As soon as he said that last word the closet door creaks open.
"Alex!! Run!" But it's too late, the phone goes dead.
When the police investigates the murder an hour later, the camera that Alex used to recored the evidence was still there, but the SD card was gone.
