The Unwanted Bride

Chapter 7-The Wedding

I finally look up at Cole , to my surprise he's staring at me.For once I don't see anger in the depths of his eyes, I can't explain it but something I see there makes me raise my hand .

Cole takes my hand in his and the moment our skin touches I feel a spark.My eyes snap to his in surprise ,wondering if he felt what I did but he wasn't looking at me, all he was focused on were our hands.As he places the ring on my finger,applauds fill the room and I hear my mom sigh in relief next to me.I place the ring on his finger and just like that we were now engaged.

As soon as the applauds stopped Cole disappeared , yet again.As much as I didn't want it to affect me, it did and so I excused myself from the crowd around my family and I.

"Welcome to the family ."A feminine voice says behind me.

My eyes land on a beautiful girl with wavy shoulder length blond hair.

"Thank you."I respond with a smile."And you are ?"

"I'm Cole's younger sister , Liliana ."She introduced herself with what seemed like a forced smile .

Oh.My brother's ex girlfriend.

"It's such a pleasure to meet another one of Cole's sister ."I chime happily.

She mutters something under her breath and it sounded much like, 'Wish I could say the same in return'.

"Excuse me?"I ask in shock.

Surely I must have misheard her right ?

But then again this was my brother's ex girlfriend.The one who's feelings he had hurt.It would be expected that she didn't like me.

She gives me a sided glance , motioning to my outfit."Is that really the best dress you could find to attend your engagement.We have a reputation to upkeep here .I at least hope you don't embarrass my family for the wedding."

I stare at her in utter dismay and embarrassment. Did she really just openly insult me like that ?

"I happen to think she looks divine in that dress.Got the attention of most of the men here tonight."Liam cuts in , totally surprising me."You could probably learn a thing or two from her sis."

Liliana's eyes widen as she practically fumes at him."This conversation doesn't concern you Liam.How about you go back to one of your little  sluts so I can resume my talk with Ella."

Liam doesn't look affected  at her clear attempt to offend him."It concerns me now."He says to her ,showing her he was not going to  move an inch.

Liliana throws her hands up in the air in frustration and walks out without another word.

As soon as she's out of our view Liam grins at me.He was definitely an eye full when he smiled , I almost felt pity for all the girls who fell for that smile."Don't let my sister discourage you from marrying Cole. Looking forward to seeing your pretty face around here , I might actually have a reason to stay home now."He says with a wink ,walking off before I could respond .

I stand there frozen for a while , I wasn't sure how to handle any of the situations I was faced with today. If this was how married life was going to be like , I wasn't sure how long I would survive here.

I couldn't believe this day was finally here and it came by so quickly.

My wedding day.

I stared at my pale complexion in the mirror, the wedding dress complimenting my figure in a way I never expected it too.For the first time in my life I actually felt beautiful .
