Dominic's POV

Classes had already ended for today. I'm now leaning on my locker, waiting for Diannara to pass by.

The crowd of students were getting few the longer I waited. Where is she? Did she take a half day? I know I saw her go to the third floor after lunch.

I saw one of her friends approach their locker. I stood up straight and walked to the girl and tapped her shoulder.

"Where's Diannara?" I asked her. She turned around and looked startled to see me. She took a step backwards away from me.

"Uhm, I know they have an experiment in the Chem Lab.." She said. I nodded and walked away and sprinted to the Chemistry Lab. I hope I arrive there just in time.

I was already panting by the time I reached the top floor. This is were all the laboratories are, Chem Lab, Physics, Biology. Other facilities are here too like the gymnasium.

I slowly approached the Chem Lab and looked inside. I saw Diannara along with four students inside who seemed to be her group mates. They were cleaning the tables and some were closing the windows. I noticed that the teacher wasn't inside so I waited behind the Chem Lab.

I need to kill Diannara. Arthur knows what my plans are, that's why he kidnapped Kara and warned her about me. And since Diannara is also mad at me now because I killed her sister, there might be a chance that Arthur will reach out to her and take her as an ally to get in my way. And while its not happening yet and the thought still hasn't crossed Arthur's mind, I need to make a move. It'll be easier for Myst to finish him off when he has no one to help him. Prevention is better than cure.

I sneaked around the back part of the Chem Lab and waited for them to finish. I leaned on the wall and took out my handkerchief and made sure the knife is secure in its container that is strapped around my waist.

When I heard footsteps and voices coming closer I took a peek from my hiding spot. Diannara came out of the lab with her classmates. I think they were talking about the experiment they did.

Diannara was left behind since she was the one who has the keys to lock the door. I waited for her classmates to go down the stairs.

I went out of my hiding spot and ran to her. I pulled her hair and covered her mouth with the handkerchief I was holding. She struggled against my hold and kept kicking her feet on the floor and clawed my arm with her fingernails. I gritted my teeth and tried not to make a sound when she clawed my face and my cheek stung.

I kicked the door of the Chem Lab and went inside. I took out my knife and stabbed her waist, earning a muffled cry from her. I felt tears streaming down her face. I let go of her and her eyes widened when she saw me.

"D-Dominic.." a voice whispered but to my surprise, it wasn't Diannara's voice. I noticed Diannara looking behind me with her eyes pleading for help so I turned my head to look behind.

I saw Kara standing in the doorway. Her mouth was hanging open and she was looking at me with fear in her eyes. She looked at Diannara's blood that was on the ground.

Somehow I froze in my spot. I couldn't move and my mind suddenly went blank. I didn't know what to do next. Shit. She saw me.

"Dominic!"

I snapped out from my daze when I heard Kara shout my name. She was running to me and I looked back at Diannara and saw her in front of me. I wasn't able to react when she grabbed the knife I was holding and stabbed my stomach. I groaned in pain and a waterfall of blood came out from my mouth.

"Convertam In Cinere!" I saw clearly with my two eyes how Kara said those words to Diannara. I looked at Diannara and saw a red beam of light hit her body. She fainted and suddenly turned into ashes, flying into the air and floating away.

So Kara knows how to do witchcraft, too?

My legs gave up and I collapsed to kneel on the ground. Kara kneeled beside me and made me lay down on the ground, placing my head on her lap. I groaned when the wound started burning and I felt my strength and consciousness slipping away from me. The world slowly started spinning that made me want to close my eyes.

I heard the door slam shut as Kara looked at it and waved her arm sidewards, as if she was slamming the door with her own hand. A strong gust of wind suddenly came in the lab as she did that, blowing our hair away and lifting our clothes up a bit.

She's good at this.

I felt her wiping something on my mouth to wipe the blood away. I clutched my stomach and grunted as I pulled the knife out and let go of it, making a clinking sound as it fell on the ground.

Kara removed my hands from my stomach and placed her hands on top of the wound.

"Ad Sanandum Vulnus," I heard her chant those words over and over again. I closed my eyes shut when I saw some blinding light radiating from my wound. I cursed out loud when I felt my wound slowly closing and my ripped flesh coming back together.

I kicked my feet and clenched my jaw. The pain was so intense, I could feel it in my whole body and it seems to be going through my bones. Once the bright light died, strength came back into my body bit by bit and my dizziness faded away. After a minute my eyesight was back to normal and I was able to recognize Kara's face hovering above me. She was panting heavily and sweating intensely.

I sat back up and I managed to do it normally, without any effort at all. I looked down at my stomach and the wound was gone, the only thing that's left is the blood stain on my shirt that was surrounding the area where the wound was. There wasn't even a single mark or scar from the stab wound left. My skin was back to normal as if nothing happened to me.

"W-what did you do to me?" I asked her, pretending to be surprised and have no clue about what she did. She pursed her lips and looked down on tbe floor and back up to my face.

"P-please don't tell this to anyone..." she said and started picking with her fingers nervously. "M-my family came from a long line of people who practice sorcery... So... Yeah, I kinda know how to do that too."

I furrowed my eyebrows and faked a curious look on my face. "Sorcery? I didn't know that was real."

"I didn't know too at first... But, I found out when I caught my mom practicing it. She didn't tell me about it and I don't know why... So I just practiced it myself," I didn't answer for a while to make my acting more convincing. I nodded to her silently after a minute and stood up.

She did the same. After that we cleaned the floor of the Chem Lab and made sure to wipe out any evidence that something happened inside here. After that we went out the laboratory and Kara used her magic again to repair the broken door. I took out my jacket from my backpack and put it on to cover the blood stains on my clothes.

I was about to offer to take her home but then I remembered that Keila was telling her to stay away from me. I just watched her drive away in her car from the distance.

I really need to get a move on with my plan.
