Jason's POV

Nico and I only got more worried as the car ride went on and Percy remained unconscious. Nico continued to stroke Percy's hair, and the silence was deafening. "So.." I don't know what to say. "This is really happening, Percy is..." I start, but am unable to finish. "Abused." Nico spits out. His anger at the situation tangible and filling the air with a foreboding since of death. " I don't know what to do." I said meekly. "Me either." Says Nico, even though you can hear the grit of his teeth, obviously refraining from his true answer. " it's just, I knew but I didn't.." "KNOW." Says Nico, with the intonation that we did know, we just... Didn't do anything. My hands are tightly clenched on the steering wheel, and my knuckles are turning white. " it'll be ok Jase." Nico says, grabbing one of my hands, and working the tension out of it. He leans his forehead against the back of my shoulder, when we hear a groan come from the sleeping boy. Nico pulls away from me and turns all his attention to the slowly awakening Percy. " Percy honey?" Nico questions quietly. Another groan is the only sound he makes, but his eyes open at a sluggish pace. When he finally seems to be awake his eyes are blurry and unfocused. " Percy, you idiotic, seaweed brained so of Poisoiden, you better be ok... Or I'll... I dint know but it will be bad," Nico rants. " I ... Wait where are we?" Percy asks. He sounds so confused it's almost funny. " we're on our war to the hospital Perce." I say gently. " Jase?" Percy asks. " yeah baby?" I prod encouraging him to keep talking. " I'm so tired." He whispers, collapsing into Neeks a little. " Jason, are we almost there? Percy doesn't look too good." Nico says anxiety laced into his tone. "Yeah Neeks, were about to pull in." Soon Nico and I are both supporting Percy as we walked into the emergency room. " may I help you?" The lady at the counter asks dully, without looking up from her paper. " Our friend got beat really bad, and he needs care fast!" I say. " when she looks up from her paper she lets out a gasp. "Of course sir." She stutters out, and quickly picks up the phone. A second later we hear a muffled voice on the other end. " yeah, Hannah, it's a code black, and it's Percy too, but it's real bad this time." The girl, Lilly? I think her name tag said, says to the nurse over the phone. "You know Percy?" I ask a little stunned, as she pulls out a wheelchair. "Oh, yeah. But that's not a good thing." She states as Nico and I set Percy into the chair, and follow Lilly and Percy into an elevator. "He's been in here tons of times just since I've worked here, but some of the others say he's been coming, alone mind you, since he was around ten." She is noticeably figity now, and seems to be nervous about telling us that information. " let me guess, you're Jason.." She says pointing to me, " and you're Nico." She follows. Now pointing to Neeks. " ummm yeah, how did you know?" Nico asks. " oh Percy talks about you two all the time when he is here." She says. Nico gives me a surprised look. I shrug my shoulders. " you can sit here." She says. Pointing to a row of plastic chairs against the wall. Then she takes Percy back, and all we hear is worried, muffled voices. The two of us only continued to panic. Our boyfriend was in the hospital, and he had been coming in here for years for the same types of issues. I was about to get up and ask someone what was going on when a different woman came through the door. She seemed to have been crying; however, she walked over to us with a smile on her face. " hi I'm Hannah, and you are Jason and Nico." She asks. She must be the girl Lilly was on the phone with. " yes that's us." Nico says tersely. Wanting to get to the point. "Percy is stable and awake if you would like to see him." She managed to stutter out, under the watchful and intimidating glare of Nico Di-Angelo. " oh, thanks. Umm, mam? What room is he in." I ask nervously. " oh it's Percy's... Room 37." She said. Realizing we had never been here before. So Nico and I went in search of room 37. It turned out that room 37 was the farthest room from the emergency center, so we got to hike all around the large hospital. When we finally approached the room a contagious laugh that we knew very well flowed  down the hallway, and hit us like a slap in the face. "Percy.." Nico whispered.na small grin appearing to replace the solemn look on his face. A smile arise to match on my face as we quickened our pace. By the time we could see Percy, Nico was sprinting, " PERCY!" Nico yelled, and crashed into the laughing boy. "Mph?" Was the only sound Percy made before he wrapped Nico into a bear hug. " Neeks. Jase?" We nod. " I...I thought I dreamed you guys." " No babe. We're here." I said a small, sad, smile making its way onto my face. A muffled cough sounds from the back corner of the room. " umm  excuse me I will just, I was about to leave." A small girl with a knitted cap says. She was slim, and looked to be extremely sick, but the sweet affectionate smile on her face countered the rest of her appearance. She seemed happy. " oh no Emma! It's just Nico and Jason. They'll love you. Won't you." He says looking pointedly at the two of us. " of course! Hi Emma I'm Jason." " and I'm Nico." We said in turn. The girl who couldn't hand been over ten giggled. " guys this is Emma, she has leukemia, so she has been in here for a couple of weeks, so we've seen a lot of each other." " hey sweetie?" I asked softly, not wanting to scare the slight girl. "Mm?" " can we talk with Percy for a minute, we gave some grownup things to talk about, and it's really important?" "Yeah that's fine!" She said, and walked out of the room. " Percy honey, we need to talk." Nico says solemnly. Percy's face turns serious. " why didn't you tell us you were abused Percy? We could have helped, done something, anything." By the end of the speech I'm crying. "I was scared, I thought that you would think I was weak, I the hero of fucking Olympus and I can't even defend myself against my stepfather, I mean it's a punch here, a slap there normally, you know, but this time, I, he, it was so much worse this time!" Now he is sobbing, and Nico is wrapped around his side, petting Percy's hair softly, and I am clinging to his hand for dear life. "What did he do honey?" Nico asks hesitantly, afraid of the answer. "He, he... He raped me." Percy chokes out,mbefore collapsing into a sobbing mess in Nico and I's arms. "Hey hey hey, it's ok baby." "Yeah your safe now honey." Nico and I say over and over on repeat. Just wanting to comfort the man we love until he is peacefully at rest in our arms. And for our Percy to be ok.
