Chapter Two:                                                                                                                                                                 Finding Peace

As we wake up in your room, your face is the first thing I see. The first time I've seen love, and the last I'll ever need. Pierce the Veil

Chilly air nipped at my skin creating goose bumps, I shivered and stifled a yawn.

Feeling around for the feather light duvet on top of my body I brought it closer to me, hoping to gain some warmth. Like the air, it too was cold and I shuffled to my side hoping to some how escape the wintery air.

Clutching the duvet even closer to me I relax my position, raising one leg up slightly only to feel it drop.

My eyes opened wide and I gasped loudly. Quickly pulling my leg back up, I sit up slightly nerved by the whole ordeal.

For some reason, what just happened seemed to have scared me more than it would’ve done. My erratic heart made me even more nervous, I mean, this happens all the time right? So why am I so freaked out about this?

I sighed. My heart is messed up!

‘’Andrea?’’

I slightly jumped at the sound of a soft voice; bringing my right hand to my chest over my heart I rubbed it, a weak attempt to slow it down.

I really don’t know what is wrong with me. Even Dylan’s voice seemed to scare me!

I guess it was probably because I was so unaware of him or anyone else being here with me, even though it should be obvious, this isn’t my room.

I felt the bed shake as I felt Dylan move beside me.

‘’Andrea?’’

Looking at Dylan I could see the confused worry in his features, his lips tugged down frowning and his eyebrows scrunched together. I smiled at him weakly, trying to convey that I’m okay.

Removing the duvet from around his waist he crawled closer to me, encasing his arms around me he brought me closer to his chest.

I’ve always felt tiny in stature but never have I felt so vulnerably warm inside, not even when I decided to hug my brothers recently. Being shorter than him meant my head fit snuggly into his neck.

Realizing I had repeated my performance yesterday by prolonging a reply, I once again whispered a ‘’Hi.’’

His large warm hand stroked my back slowly, making my eyelids droopy.

‘’Hey. Why are you up?’’

Feeling as if I was going to fall asleep soon, I whispered a reply, ‘’It’s cold.’’

At this he sighed and unwrapped his arms around me. The loss of touch and warmth made me frown, but I quickly hid it keeping my eyes locked on the pristine white bed sheet.

Lying down, Dylan’s now shirt clad chest was in the exact spot of my gaze.

I could feel his gaze on me, making me bite my lip uncomfortably. I mean, here he was this beautiful man lying down looking gorgeous as ever, even more so after he had just woken up and here I am.

I bet I looked like a mess, my hair all over the place, my eyes tired.

‘’Andrea?’’

My ear perked up under my tousled hair, wringing my hands in my lap I kept my gaze solely on my hands.
