Peacefully lived in the mansion, the mansion of Love, care, refuge, beauty and prosperity. We assembled and happily operated together. So accommodative and heart-felt sense of belonging never did anyone admire to leave, so lovely that our neighbours found refuge and not to say the least they even called it Canaan.
Kenya my mother land,I remember the days when peace reigned among the 42 lovely tribes that were there such that many others from different countries joined in and now at 45,in our of our native languages we say that, only the house of a witch is not visited, this talks volume of our lovely country. The fragrance of peace had spread all over.
Together our forefathers joined hands and together acquired independence from the white man, a Kenyan community can with the Spirit of harambee Kenya got independence. The "Kenyan community " was just a concept of the instrumental theory because after independence Pap! Tribal cleavage got it's way, Kenyans we started viewing each other with tribal lenses.
A mansion of 47 rooms is now undergoing an earthquake and slowly breaking down becoming rack and ruins. The house our forefathers constructed with their blood, we are now taking it for granted... A joke is told that if Dedan Kimathi was to wake up, he would basically go back to the grave without being shown the way.
True to say there is fear all over, blood shed, the smell of blood all over the soil next to turning red, the air smelling bloody, the green in our flag is now turning brown slowly to red and the spears and shield it is when they are being used in totality. As my mother says my child gone are the days you walked around the streets so comfortable. The society now has turned to a man eat man society, no one cares about the other. Our leaders now using the common Mwananchi as their stepping stone so as to pursue their personal interest.
Kenya is shaken, the earthquake is too much to bare, the confusion too much to persevere. The future is unpredictable.Tommorow can't be told of.
As an analyst am bound to ask where are we headed as a country? Is there hope for us, what is there for the next generation?
My humble prayer is that God show us the way and give us substantial leaders people who are meant to make a difference and bring back the Glory that Kenya ones had.
Kenya awaits for me and you to take up the mantle and reshape it to:The Kenya we want.
