~Chapter Three~

A few weeks later, Anastasia was sitting in the back of the town’s library, her books spread out on the table as well as food for the day. It was their first day off after having been at school for several weeks and she was glad for it. It gave her an excuse to get away from both school and her home. She’d left a note for her brother, knowing her mother wouldn’t care as long as she was home in time to make her food.

She was humming along to a song she had just managed to download thanks to the library’s free Wi-Fi for students and she smiled as she leant back in her chair, her pen in her hand as she looked around the space she was in. Breathing in deeply, she leant forward and reached for her water bottle, unscrewing the lid as she raised it to her lips and began to drink from it.

She paused after a moment as something caught her eye off to the side. She stopped drinking and she tilted her head as she looked towards what had caught her eye. Finding that nothing was there as she lowered her bottle to the desk before her, she rolled her eyes at herself and shook her head as she leant forward again and picked up her high lighter. Reaching out, she grabbed one of her texts book from school, turning to the page she was looking for and she began to read through the information.

She finished reading through the information and sighed out as she leant back in her chair, closing her eyes as she pulled her earphones out of her ears. Reaching up, she rubbed her eyes slightly before she blinked as she opened her eyes and looked at the person that had suddenly appeared on the other side of the table to her. She raised a brow as she looked at the person before she spoke up.

“Can I help you?” she asked and the person chuckled.

“No. But I can help you,” he said to her and she rolled her eyes.

“Go away would you? I’m busy,” she said as she put her earphones back into her ears and pressed play on her phone where she had her music going.

She let out a yelp as she felt her earphones pulled from her ears and she reached up, rubbing them before she scowled at the person in front of her. She narrowed her eyes on the person, before her eyes wandered over to her drink bottle as it started to frost over on the top of where the water was. Her eyes widened a little and they turned towards him, quickly trying to reach down and move the drink bottle from view.

“What on earth possessed you to do that? It hurt you know?” she snapped at him as she grasped her bottle before she looked down at her bottle.

A hand suddenly came down over hers and she squeaked, her eyes wide as she saw the person who had been on the other side of the table to her standing right in front of her. She swallowed heavily as she quickly took a step back from him, her hand leaving the drink bottle as his remained on it. She bit down on her lip before she quickly turned and began to pack up her things, shoving them into the backpack she had brought with her.

She went to reach for her drink bottle before she decided against it, turning away from it before she made her way towards the exit of the library. She could hear footsteps behind her and she quickened her own, making to go out of the library. She heard the footsteps following her and she walked as quickly as she could away from the library.

She walked as quickly as she could towards her house. Glancing behind her, she saw that the boy from the library was still following her and she grew rather pale. She swallowed heavily before she rushed away from her house, heading towards the park to hope to get away from the boy who was following her.

Making it to the park, she headed for where the large group of people was. She glanced over her shoulder to see if the boy was still following her and she jumped slightly when she saw he was still there. But he had stopped at the entrance to the park. He just stood there now, his eyes watching her as she chewed on her bottom lip now, swallowing as she quickly tried to duck for cover behind the slide.
