~Chapter Four~
Several days had passed and Anastasia did her best to keep her distance from the guys who had followed her from the library. She would remain in crowded areas, even during recess and lunch when she would normally work on her assignments in the library alone. Now she did her assignments at home, with what little time she could before her mother got home. She would do her work whilst she was doing the housework and such and then after dinner, when her mother disappeared into her study.
She was, at present, furiously scribbling away inside of her notebook which was resting on her knee. Her head was down and she was turning the page after every few minutes on her text book which sat beside her on the bench. She continued to write even as the bell went for the end of lunch and she scowled, quickly scribbling the rest of what she wanted to write down before she closed her books quickly and picked them up, hugging them to her chest as she quickly put her pen behind her ear and began to head towards her locker.
Her head was down as she walked, her eyes on her books as she continued to read as she walked. She bumped into someone, which she apologised for quickly and rushed back off towards her locker. Once she was there, she quickly opened up her locker, putting in the combo in without looking at it. She then, only once she had opened her locker, looked back up again and she began to put her books and such into her locker, grabbing out the other books that she needed for her next and last class for the day.
She closed her locker door as she held her books before she turned to head towards her class and she let out a scream when she saw someone standing in front of her. She dropped her books and stumbled back, falling backwards. She closed her eyes and prepared herself to come into contact with the floor.
When the pain from hitting the ground didn’t come, she opened her eyes and blinked, looking around in surprise. Seeing a pair of arms wrapped around her and holding her close. She blushed heavily before she quickly pried herself out of the person’s arms. Finding that it was the man from the library when she was standing up properly, despite his best efforts to hold onto her, she got free of his arms and stared at him.
“Don’t touch me! Get away from me!” she shouted at him as she quickly grabbed her books again before she rushed towards her class.
She remained in the back of her class then for the rest of the day. She kept her head down and continued to work, snapping at anyone that came close to her.
By halfway through the class, Anastasia had nearly wanted to tear her hair out. She couldn’t focus on her work no matter how hard she tried. Giving up on doing her work, Anastasia pulled her feet up to rest on the seat beside her, seeing as though no one had sat next to her during the lesson and she hugged her knees to her chest. Turning the chair she was sitting on to face the window beside her, Anastasia rested her head on her knees and stared out the window, wishing she was out there rather than stuck in the small four walled classroom.
Hearing the door open to the classroom, Anastasia turned her attention towards the door of the classroom briefly before she looked back towards the window. She didn’t particularly care who had just walked into the classroom. Sighing to herself, she moved again, rearranging her seats so that she could sit properly again when she looked over and saw the teacher scowling at her. She grumbled a little before she picked up her pen again and began writing.
She let out a yelp as she felt someone kick her chair and she jerked forward, hitting her elbow as she went. Wincing as she placed her pen down, she looked up as she turned around slightly. Looking up, her eyes widened in sudden fear and she backed away quickly before she froze when she saw the teacher beside him.
“Anastasia. This is Jakob. He’s joining our class and he’s asked to sit beside you,” the teacher said to her and she bit down on her lip.
“So…Move over then,” he said to her and Anastasia moved over reluctantly, moving her things with her as well.
