DAMON'S POV
"Stefan!" I yelled down the streets of New Orleans. That's the place Stefan used to go when he would turn his humanity off. I had heard on the news about fourteen people dying of an 'animal' attack in New Orleans. I knew it wasn't an animal and it was Stefan. I saw a man running down the street with a 'animal bite'. No it's a vampire bite. "Hey!" I yelled to the man. "What?" he screamed, not knowing where he was going, but knowing they he was going to die. I pulled him over and forced him to drink my blood to heal. "Who did this to you." I asked. Well, more like compelled him. "A vampire. A man with fangs and he said his name was Stefan." the man replied. Stefan was getting sloppy. He was telling his victims his name. I guess he doesn't really care anymore. "Where were you." I compelled out of him. "Over by the grey house." he said and pointed to a house near by. I ran to the house and found Stefan sitting on a couch and flipping channels on a T.V. "Hey brother. Whatcha doing?" I said to him. "Watching the news." he replied, while cutting his hand with the razor in the shaver. I pulled the razor out of his hand and looked at him. He looked back at me, blankly. I had no clue what to say to him. Should I be serious? Should I joke? I was absolutely clueless. "So Elena tried to seduce me." I told him trying to get his attention, but realising that that was the wrong thing to say. "Congratulations." Stefan said, still looking at the television. "Come on brother. Turn your humanity back on and be the 'hero'." I said to Stefan who was looking deep in thought. "Brother, you see, that's where you go wrong. I was never the hero. I was always the 'back up'." Stefan said, emotionless.
STEFAN'S POV
Damon was telling me how I was always the hero and that I should turn my humanity back on. I don't see where that would get me. Back in misery and pain? Yeah, I'm going to stay with no humanity. "I was never the hero. I was always the 'back up'." I told him. It was true. I was only the back up. "Stefan, come on. You are so much more than just a back up. You are the hero no matter what you think. Get off of this 'ripper phase' and come home." Damon said. "I think you should leave now." I said to Damon, quietly, but with anger. "Brother." Damon said with pain. I left the room and 'whooshed' out of the town.
6 MONTHS LATER
I had been around America and Canada for about six months now. I had received the name 'Ripper' again. That was what everyone back at Mystic Falls were calling me. Damon calls me every other day, which is really annoying. He told me that everyone in Mystic Falls knew about vampires and the cure. I know that I have to get that cure. I need that cure. I had been thinking about what I was going to do with it for three months. Damon wants me to write on my journal about what I'm feeling, but you see, no humanity equals no feelings, fucktard. My phone started ringing at about three thirty in the morning. I picked it up and it was surprisingly Elena. "What." I said when I picked up. "Stefan." she said in a girly voice. "What." I repeated in the same tone as before. "What? What? That's all I get? We haven't seen each other in about six and a half months and all you have to say to me is what?" Elena said in sorrow. "Elena, are you deaf and memory less? We spoke yesterday. And I said hi." I said back to her with a hint of sarcasm. "Whatever Stefan." she said as she giggled. I wasn't trying to joke with her, but I guess I just have that effect on her. I hung up after she finished talking. I suddenly remembered when Klaus took control over me. I also remembered when I was in a bar with him and then I called Elena. Awful times, you know, being in love with Elena. Then I found out what I was going to do with the cure. I was going to kill Elena.
